    [Misc] Bucket lists

Same. Went to Cuba about 14 years ago have since travelled to the US loads of times on four separate ESTAs, and at at least half of those would've been on the same passport.

[Finance] Premium Bonds - prize pool increased again - you ever have any luck?

For the first month in a while, my returns have been something approaching the 4.4% average. I guess it's the potential for winning biggly that I have to account for, but overall I feel that I've got far better value from the low-coupon gilts I bought about 9 months ago as far as tax-efficient...

[Albion] Carlos Baleba's stunning start to the season

I was going to say that. Best save I've seen him make was in Euros against Turkey. That was incredible reaction and at such an important time of a huge game.

[Other Sport] Question for NSC golders

It's not legally required. Although it's possible certain courses in close proximity to houses etc. may require it to play them, but it's not something I've heard of - not that I get to play much gold these days! As with all non-mandatory insurance, you're statistically better off saving the...

    [Albion] Hürzeler’s (Brighton) Tactics

If we're assuming that FIFA ratings are accurate, then I think that Minteh is our paciest player in the senior squad with a rating of 94 and Ferdi next with 88. However, Baleba is only 76, so I'm not sure how accurate this metric is.

[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

Sarmiento's attitude has been great. Unfortunately, this alone doesn't make him a PL level footballer, as backed up by him mainly being used from the bench in the Championship by both West Brom and Ipswich last season and Burnley this season - although early days for the latter. Enciso...

[Albion] Julio Enciso - Paraguay’s new wonder kid (Signed 17/06/2022)

There is zero chant of him signing a new deal then going on loan to the Championship.

[Albion] Chelsea vs Brighton & Hove Albion *** Official Match Thread ***

    Bart - 20m Dunk - 0 Webster - 20m Hinsh - 0 Estupinan - 15m Baleba - 15m?? Ferdi - 25m Wiefer - 25m Mitoma - 5m?? Welbeck - 0 Rutter - 40m 165m, so not exactly bargain-basement stuff. Although if we'd had our best defender and attacker available, that'd have reduced the total by about 30m.

[Albion] What's happened to Adam Webster.

Yes, the narrative that Webster's error turned Cole Palmer into a world-class player is a load of bollocks. We'd have lost that game regardless.

    [Albion] Palace Fans Biggest Fear

Whilst I don't want to give solace to a Palace fan, new signings rarely hit the ground running. It usually takes a few months to get going and show their value regardless of their transfer fee and experience. Of all the succesful signings we've made over the last few years, there's few I can...

    [Albion] Hürzeler’s (Brighton) Tactics

Fab is young (has it been mentioned?) and therefore less likely to be stuck in his ways. I’ve only seen the MOTD highlights, but even from that sample it’s clear that our back line needs give a few yards. I’d be amazed if he, the coaches and senior players don’t tweak things before next week...

    [Albion] Cole Palmer

Depends if Chelsea face PSR sanctions. I have a feeling that they’ll be looking at the outcome of the City case quite nervously.

The 400m hurdler off of the 80s?

[Albion] Sold the best players, shit in defence, shit in attack, with a shit manager and in real trouble

That was our first season in the Premier League when they had the De Boer experiment and sacked him after about 5 games. Hodgson did a decent job in turning them around but I think the significant factor was that Zaha missed the first 7 games that season. Once he was back they started scoring...

[Albion] How long will YOU give Fab before calling for his head

And that team was absolutely flying at the Potter left. It must be incredibly rare for a manager to inherit a team on such a good run and full of confidence. Hurdler certainly didn’t.

[Albion] If Graham Potter is re-appointed...

If you believe the reports, it’s next month. Although it’s 800K gross, so that’s a mere 425K net. This tallies with other reports that he’s pocketing 10m over 2 years for only 6 months work.

[Albion] If Graham Potter is re-appointed...

Yes. Although, there are some people for whom winning the lottery is not a good thing and they end up pissing it all away on drink, drugs, cars, etc. I'm willing however to predict that Potter's 10m is tucked away in a diversified porfolio of investments and earning him a very tidy passive income.

[Albion] If Graham Potter is re-appointed...

I'd imagine that being financially secure for life in your mid 40s and being able to wait for the right opportunity to come along whilst picking and choosing the occasional bit of punditry would be a good quality life, to be honest.

[Politics] The 2024 US Election - Trump v Harris

I certainly hope not. But it’s possible that the whole outcome will come down to a few thousand people in Pennsylvania who aren’t normally particularly politically engaged. Who knows how motivated they will be to vote for or against Trump in 6 weeks!
