The whole thing is about attacking. You're either thinking this way or you're not. The declaration is just a line in a long line of decisions and things that could have gone better over the course of 5 days, it is no where near the definitive thing. There isn't a refined version, just like there...
Remind me when we last won it and what tactics we'd employed in the meantime?
I can expand, 2015.
Since then in the Ashes (not including this series) we are P15 W2 D3 L10
So anyone thinking we need to revert to something England was previously doing as if it was working in order to win the...
Subsequent dropped or fluffed chances, mistakes with the bat all contributed to it being a thrilling end to the test match.
You could easily argue that with 440 on the board or whatever, Aussies would have been even more negative and we wouldnt have seen a thrilling end, or England ended up...
Frustrating to be largely the better team, but mistakes in the field, injury to Moeen and Stoke’s knee, but what a fantastic match. In 2019 I thought we were very lucky to win that one and today the tables turned.
Love to see Foakes back in the gloves for Lords.
And here's to you, Ollie Robinson
England loves you more than you will know
Woah woah woah
God bless you please, Ollie Robinson
Middle stumps is cartwheeling away
Hey hey hey, hey hey hey
No of course not, and personally I'd have probably picked him as a batsman and looked at Duckett or Pope making way rather than Foakes. But while you don't want to lay personal blame, he's a professional sportsman and he's made the bulk of the errors.
Australia have made 15 chances in the game and taken 12 of them.
England taken five of their 10 chances in the field.
Meanwhile, Alex Carey took nine of his 10 opportunities behind the stumps, Jonny Bairstow is on just one from five so far.
Get injured pissing around on a golf course, straight back in the team, given the gloves back despite being visibly out of shape and exceptional gloveman in his place for the passed 9 months. He’s not dropped the Ashes once, it’s 4 times in this match alone.
First bloody over he could have had...
Got to say, thought Cummins was exceptional and along with Lyon showed great resilience when England were charging.
I agree lots of England mistakes particular in the field, but this is a very good Aussie side still.
Agree, Carey doesn’t miss Root’s stumping in 43 today - as tough a chance as Bairstow’s yesterday. Throw in some crucial dropped catches and the declaration actually slips well back in critical moments.
Every single time in this match we have them where we want them we give them a wicket or don't take one. Is this just a case of Australia being a very good team!?
