I'm not happy about this from Igor at all. I think I may pop round the corner and have a stern word with him ...

Smug Eddie dragging this one out: Newcastle "on the verge of opening talks" for Pedro per the Telegraph. Identified as the club's priority target now that Mbeumo has decided he'd rather move to Utd or Spurs.

Pedro is a talented footballer but there is a good bit of hype being put out in the media.

I don't see him as a consistent starter for a top six club. But if they want to pay £60 million plus for him more fool them. We'll take the money and move on.

As for Igor, what PL club is going to sign and play him? He'll need to take a big wage cut if he is going to get a move. He's been a disappointment!

Igor will probably go back to Italy I’d think.

Be interesting to see where he goes. Other than Newcastle, there doesn't seem to be masses of interest. Can they afford him? Maybe, maybe not.

The risk is that it doesn't come about and suddenly he's stuck out in Saudi, earning millions, but watching his career slowly dwindle and die at 23.

I hope he finds a suitable home. He is certainly an entertaining player with an engaging personality. But from where I watch he is prone to error, is slow on the turn and shouldn't be near the starting line up of any club with serious European pretentions.
He played in the Europa Conference League Final the year before he joined us. Although they lost, and he didn't play very well, so maybe proves your point.

The most curious thing..
Has anyone else noticed that whenever we have a fan proclaimed "worldie" who leaves (or seems to want to leave), he overnight becomes crap, massively overrated, and never did anything for us anyway?

Yes, not only have I noticed that, I’ve also then noticed this very point being made shortly after, then someone else defending it saying it doesn’t apply to them, and so on.
