If you feel such disdain for the people in your community, you should move.

Your love for big houses is going to tear you apart man.

I live in an affluent part of the south of England surrounded by houses worth ridiculous money and twatish people earning obscene amounts of money, living lives that I think are alien to the reality of most people in the world and I know the majority of the twats that live round here have never heard of Joy Division.

And yet, I’m sat here listening to them, a band from the North West of England who wrote their music nearly 50 years ago thinking how in touch their music is with the bollocks bleak reality of life in this f***ed up world.
Just can I just clear this up, that you don't live in the vicinity of Broadmoor ???

If this is the de facto Fridat night drinking thread here's my Black Sheep in Edale I had earlier.

Also a man in mental turmoil.
The rest of the band didn't listen to the lyrics.
Glad I didn't fall into that sink hole when in my early 20s.

Fast forward. Check out Ofdream

This is a Fridat night drinking post I can love.

Closer is the greatest album of all time. End of.

Ignore the mockers. This was an emotional music.

I do think Joy Division connect where a lot of other bands simply do not. F me, Closer is more 'high art' than simply music. They also attract obsessives (like myself). I have a mate who was completely addicted to them and listened to them compulsively for years - and almost nothing else. I suggested we form a self-help group called 'Joy Division Anonymous'. Maybe the OP should join us?

Four young and naturally gifted musicians/songwriters created stunning anthems, hitting the just right note with swathes of a generation. 45 years later their art is still beautiful, goosebumps every time. Love them forever.
All of this plus the significant contribution of the unofficial 5th member (the flawed genius that was Martin Hannett).
