We're well into off season now, and there's a lot of crap going on in the world, so after the success of the UK Comedy Cup in 24 (Blackadder beat Fawlty Towers by 194-114 in the final), I thought I'd bring a musical flavouring this time round.
Who do you think is the greatest British Band of all time?
Will The Beatles simply walk it? The Stones? The Who? Zeppelin get the LED out? Radiohead - bit too weird and depressing? Coldplay - too bland. Can't believe you haven't mentioned *insert obscure band name here* Will this just be another fun and roundabout way of polling the NSC demographic pretty bloody accurately?
I'm only accepting BANDS - doesn't matter what genre, it needs to be a musical group. Not single artists/singers - that may come another time. No room for Bowie or Elton John, I'm sad to say. I will do my best to rule fairly on "iffy" ones, but please just try to keep to the spirit of the competition and nominate what are obviously, identifiably, groups.

You may NOMINATE 3 artists, and SECOND 3 (already nominated by others) artists. No more, no less. Please keep to this to make things easier for me. First 32 will qualify into a standard 8 group tournament, once a band has been nominated AND seconded, they are IN.
Your favourite band didn't make it? Tough - should've done more to promote them - don't hate the playa (me), hate the game (your fellow NSCers and their dreadful music taste).
Music videos etc absolutely ENCOURAGED, to support your nominations' credentials. I hopeful - as we did with the comedy world cup - we should see some lively debate in the group stages and onward. Shock defeats, comebacks, batterings - all part of tournament life.
I will allow bands of mixed nationality if there is a significant UK presence - ie Fleetwood Mac IS allowed. King Crimson - allowed. Etc.
