Alcarez is incredible. Can’t believe we have a star who will eclipse Roger, Rafa and Novak

Every time R5 mention “Roland Garros” …. endlessly for weeks beforehand and during, I change channels in a microsecond :lolol: .
Like me with any mention of cricket! Haven’t even opened the NSC cricket thread

Same applies to Baseball, American Football, rugby league and basketball

He’s very good but I doubt he’ll eclipse those three. I hope though that he, Sinner, Zverev et al and can provide a new group to thrill us tennis fans as much as the others did. It’s a brilliant sport
He will though. He was ahead of where they were at 20

Unlike yesterday's puerile performance of head-mental histrionics, crap body language and seventy unforced errors by Sabalenka v cool calm collected Coco Gauff, today's mens final is pretty damn near flawless tennis by Sinner and Alcaraz. Could be be a long afternoon - for all the best reasons :clap2:

Have to say I much prefer tennis on grass, this is brilliant but it’s a bit wack a ball on clay

Not at all good news that Sinner is getting medical treatment for a blister on his foot - and visibly limping - this early in the match

What.A.Match

2-0 down to 2-2 with three match points saved in the 4th set by Alcaraz

But, even more impressive is the sportsmanship. Sinner calling two balls against him in when the line judge had called them out when he was on the brink of winning. Footballers could learn a lot from such fantastic sportsmanship

As an Alcaraz fan I will not be gutted if Sinner wins this.

The Stade de France had offered the tennis authorities three hectares of land with the condition that the new stadium must be named after the World War I aviator hero Roland Garros.

Maybe we could rename Wimbledon:
Biggles?
Or what about Flashheart? Woof! Woof!

With the Nations League final coming up, it's shaping up to be a big night out here in Spain.

Andy Murray came through as the great British hope into an era dominated by a Swiss and a Spaniard. I worry Jack Draper is about to come through as the great British hope into an era dominated by a Spaniard and an Italian…

Absolutely cracking - longest French Open final in history - 4 hours, 50 mins so far. Another tiebreaker on the 5th maybe?
