They're Irish aren't they? I've paid £72 to see them in November to be fair, so I hope I don't regret it :lolol: .
They are absolutely incredible live. Among the best gigs I've ever been to. But take ear plugs!!!

And yes, Kevin Shields is Irish.

Check Grian Chatten's birth location.
Didn't know that! But y'know, they are Irish. Or at least surely the rest of them are. And they even have Dublin in their name.

If that makes Fontaines British, they are definitely in my list (which I haven’t shared).

That rule also makes Freddie Mercury Tanzanian, so those banging on about Queen need to button it.
Have to say, my favorite Turkish band has always been The Clash.

Cos they are sh$t!!!!
What am I missing here! Why the hate for the iconic Queen! Were they diehard Palace fans or something?! And what's with hipster Joy Division love, one good song they had :p now I could think of at least 10 better Manchester bands.

Well, there you have it.

Some people like Queen, some don’t.

Some people like Joy Division, some don’t.

It’s almost as if music taste is a subjective thing.

Thin Lizzy are not, however. So we also can't claim the best band in the world right now (Fontaines DC) are British.
Fontaines DC and Idles are equally brilliant

Jam
The Smiths

And there really isn’t a third that you can bracket with those two legends but the closest would be Sam Fender (who I’d argue is a band given their consistent personnel line up over 3 albums)
