Done well since returning . Do wonder on his positioning for the goal last night and its been a while we've seen a 2nd tocuh as a tackle which used to happen alot. Happy to have in the squad

Hope we go all out to sort the defence though .

He has been immense when playing but he did have one shocking moment when a misplaced pass very nearly resulted in a Liverpool goal last night. Long time since I’ve seen him make such an error.

I really hope we give him a contract extension as these errors are few and far between these days, and all defenders make them now and again.

I, too, would choose him over Dunk this season.
I would keep him as back up but I worry about his lack of pace. He was all over the place for their first goal last night and unfortunately that isn’t entirely fair typical. He is vulnerable when Estupinan is out of position (which sadly has been often this season)

Has been outstanding recently but last night was not one of his better games. Apart from some poor passing missed several tackles further up field which put Liverpool away

First one?

He was badly exposed by Estupinan and Adingra, doing nothing and jogging back slowly.

Yeh, not Webster's finest hour with the heavy touch followed by the most obvious booking in football history. One or two other shaky moments, but I think his 90 minutes performance was decent again.

Bossed Chiesa then Nunez, with a little help from JPVH, for 98 minutes.

Outstanding display as a pair?

Can't agree with bossed. We let in 2 goals and could easily have let in more.

In a crazy harum scarum game like that, defences will be exposed, last ditch challenges will be needed. Our defensive pair were decent, but we rode our luck at the back at times.

Better to judge them in a more normal game.

I thought the weaknesses were (again) left side and Verbruggen.

Not a game for defensive purists and Arteta/Mourinho/Conte, end to end, acres of space.

Said the same, started very poorly, but as the game went on he got stronger

Completely useless and irrelevant stats from Scott McCarthy on BBC website 😉

"Unsung hero: Adam Webster. Written off by many, his return from four months out in February coincided with six victories in a row. Injured again and Brighton won one in six. Returned for the final three games of the season and it was another three wins. There does not seem to be any logic behind it, but the Albion just look much better with Webster alongside Jan Paul van Hecke."
