Certainly used to be the case; my son played for Southwick for some years. Sadly they no longer play on Southwick Green having moved to Bucky Park some years ago

I'm not a middle-class mum, but that's essentially what we did in 2001, when we had a choice of buying a flat in Brighton or spending the same amount on a three-bedroom townhouse in Shoreham-by-Sea...
