You got it pretty close to reality in a lot of respects (early shout for Europe, get figured out and then settle on 8th). Even down the 'wallop a couple of the relative "minnows" of the league' coming to the fore on the last day of the season against the hapless Spuds

I said a couple of months in (it might even be here somewhere but I CBA to find it) that the team was in a false position of top four after getting off to a flyer and that normal service would be resumed soon enough. I think it's the expectation after a decent start that got people talking about getting into the CL, so their expectations shift.

To be honest, given how opinions go from one extreme to the other during one half of football on the matchday threads, we shouldn't be surprised to see people losing it one way or another over the course of the season...

Equalled or bettered 83.4% of people’s preseason expectations. I also suspect that those voting 1st didn’t really believe we would.
