Time to cheer up people! Every cloud blah blah blah

So I'll start the straw clutching:

Beyond the regular starters, their squad is ciggy paper thin. Demands of Europa league midweek will wreck them so surely nailed on for a tortuous relegation scrap next year

Glasner was already on many radars but is now red hot property- nailed on to be gone over summer. Why stay in that dump when he could be at Utd or Spurs🤔

Likewise the better players- Eze and Guehl will lead the stampede for a big pay day elsewhere knowing their price tag will never be higher and chances of fluking another trophy if they stay are exactly zero

Parish and the yanks will pocket the cash and leave pennies for the rebuild meaning even if they cling on next year the writing will be on the wall.

Shorthand- next time we meet they will be knackered, undermanned, leaderless bunnies in our headlights and those 6 glorious points are already as good as in the bag!

I know you're likely half joking but the saltiness of a lot of the comments on here since last night are pretty laughable really - at the end of the day they've got big bragging rights over us for the time being; who knows what will happen moving forward in terms of the fortunes of both clubs but they've earned their moment in the sun (albeit with a big slice of luck, but if it were us would we give a f***? Of course we wouldn't). Fair play to them - no sour grapes from. It's life, shit happens.

For 555 days we sang "Have you ever seen the Palace in the Dam"
For 555 days we laughed at them.
For 555 days we had the better European record.
Do you think they will sit back and not laugh at us.
Take it on the chin and laugh back.
Also, at the end of the season, they are likely to have kept Brentford out of Europe, now that IS funny.
Plus "We're back" Forest could end up in the play-offs of the Conference. Even funnier.

This is bordering on obsession now. I don't think Crystal Palace supporters care half as much about us as some do them. The whole rivalry thing, any rivalry, when beyond pantomime is based in need for personal validation. In other words, needy.

Crystal Palace won the FA Cup. Folk just need to move on to things that really matter- because it really doesn't matter.

And we’ll still draw 1-1.

I can understand your points if this was a week after the final but it’s not even 24 hours since the final whistle

I think the problem is what should be nothing more than a minor irritant has, in some cases, become a quite disturbing outpouring of bitterness, almost grief. I'm genuinely concerned for folk who feel that way because it's a kind of voluntary submission to those emotions. One friend's posts were so angry yesterday it really disturbed me.

At least a top side haven’t won it for once. That is a silver lining I will enjoy.
Nooo! That was one of the beauties of Citeh winning it. It would be just so distinctly ' Meh '. Never mind the bragging rights we'll also have to tolerate all the neutrals cooing over how nice for the under dog to win. Nauseating!

I’m sure many making comments are just letting off steam in the right place which is here. I would be very surprised if it wasn’t happening.

Having been kicked to shit by football and other sporting disappointments, as a player and a fan, for over half a century now, them up the road actually winning something has done me in.

That's me out of football now.

If we now go and win something I'll take it as fact that it was my shit luck that was holding us back ;)
