For me, the best singer songwriter list must include John Prine - famous for Angel from Montgomery… but in my book, Spanish Pipedream cannot be beat… he’s in a random strip bar in Montreal when a dancer approaches… he’s acting real naive because “I knew that Topless Lady had something up her sleeve”… she whispers in his ear “blow up your TV, throw away your papers, move to the country, plant a little garden, eat a lotta peaches- and try to find Jesus on your own.” Sage advice from a stripper!

Despite my love for mid 60s Brit pop, Young is still one of my go to artists. Pleased that he finally released Homegrown a few years ago. Wears his heart on his sleeve.
