Didn't expect anything from yesterdays game, but the Women played one of their best games this season and thoroughly deserved the win. Baggaley was definitely player of the match making a number of important saves and interceptions to keep us in it, and even more so having done so with only a few minutes to prepare as she was a late starter given Loecks injury in the warmup.

Our form has been inconsistent this season, and we still showed signs of that yesterday giving the ball away in our half under pressure but we were much better defensively and for a change took our chances with some good goals. Kirby has been the lynchpin of most of our good performances, so it was good to see us go on and win yesterday after she went off at halftime.

As usual with the short contracts in the womens game there will be probably more changes than the 5 announced yesterday who are definitely going. Not sure why it was announced before the game without telling the manager they were going to do so (presume he did know they were going though) but there we go! With 3 of the 5 confirmed leavers being in defense (4 if you include Bremner who sometimes played there), including our centre back partnership we will need to do some decent recruitment in the summer if we want to look to replicate this seasons great position. Not entirely surprised on any of the leavers though as Pattinson has looked unsettled and inconsistent for awhile, Bremner and Stefanovic hardly play (the latter through injury) and Thorisdottir and Bergsvand sometimes look a bit slow.

Well done to the team for finishing (more than likely) 5th - our highest WSL finish  Breaking into the top 4 is not going to be easy even though that is the plan. Hope we hear some more about the new stadium soon, and recruitment so we can look forward to next season with optimism!

Outplayed for long periods by a technically better side. However, it’s all about sticking the ball in the onion sack.

Agree, but when we did ‘play’ it was crisp and with purpose. Also, when we lost the ball we were bloody aggressive in getting it back. Pace & Power will be top of the metrics in the fledgling Jamestown/Star Lizard women’s dbase.

We need to pay whatever fee is required to keep Agyemang permanently, she's going to dominate the women's game. She is a fantastic footballer.

Would love to keep her at the Albion, but somehow I can't see Arsenal being interested unless we pay silly money which Bloom/Barber just won't do. We can dream though

End of season award shortlists have been announced for the league:

Seike is up for player of the season (you can vote here : https://xd.wayin.com/display/container/dc/3657a47f-f327-472c-863c-288c74b286e4/details - I know the URL looks dodgy AF but it is the right one as far as I know as I took that from the Barclays FAWSL feed!)

Seikie and Agyemang are up for rising star of the season, Vidošić is up for manager of the season, and fan Jo Davis is up for fan of the year though I haven't seen any voting for those so they may be league/club people only.

Well done to all
