The hypocrisy around football and gambling is a disgrace.

Gambling companies make their zillions off the back off compulsive gamblers too far gone to “gamble responsibly” and as for that phrase “when the fun stops stop” - how is such a ridiculous disclaimer allowed?.

Certain media outlets must know that men who have mental health problems are often compulsive gamblers, yet they relentlessly run adverts promoting gambling as a profitable bit of fun. Even aligning themselves with men’s mental health causes.

It is only because gambling adverts are everywhere, normalising them, that many people are blinded to all this.
Gaslit, to use a modern buzzword.

Football should stop feeding off morally-corrupt gambling money.

How did Bloom make a load of money again?
Are you against his money funding the club?

Do his investments make it harder for problem gamblers or encourage gambling?

I have always assumed not but I concede that this may be me looking the other way.

You sound like a Palace fan.
s
Bloom’s businesses don’t promote gambling to the public.

Not even a gambling sponsor on our shirt.
Unlike his beloved Spurs whose official gaming partner are Bet MGM

I don’t need to know the details of how Bloom made his money to hold the view that football exploits fans vulnerabilities to addiction by promoting gambling, while also taking the moral high ground with pious films about men’s mental health.
If a football club was built on the downfall of any number of mainly men through gambling (I’m not saying this is the case with Albion), then it would be for the football authorities to look at that.

Tony Bloom supports Spurs? You might have an exclusive there
I was clearly referencing the poster quoted who has been patronising this forum with for years as if being a Spurs fan makes his word gospel.

Ah . Didn’t realise that . Spurs fans should maybe concentrate on their own club’s problems
