It must be a truly shit time to be a Bristol Rovers fan. The Bristol rivalry situation reminds me a bit of Palace and us, but we had the excuse of being owned by lying asset strippers - and even then we were back to near parity 25 years later. Last time Rovers were above City in the league was in 2000. Since then, they've gone in opposite directions and Rovers still play in a place unfit for professional football
When I went (that Will Hoskins game) they had a marquee doing the job of an away end.

Is that still the case?

Sat In their seats one season, they were shouting all game if we can't beat these tesco bags we must be shit. I think it was when sandtex was on our shirts. I think they did beat us.

As a Bristol resident I’m going to confidently predict they won’t win the playoffs, sadly. Even though they’re in great form.
Honestly don’t think they’ll ever go up.
Also Bristol makes Brighton look like Liverpool in terms of being a football city.

Not really, the Shitheads EXPECT. The Gas just goof about. Like comparing Trump to Benny Hill. The new stand at Rovers transforms the stadium to a 1.2 million all seater.

Are Rovers ever going to get their own ground ? I remember going to Eastville twice back in the day , they were always well supported

Bristol - above all others - is probably the one town/city that should have settled on just one football team. Closely followed by Sheffield.

I saw them beat Shrewsbury years ago in a play off final. They had over 40k there all auditioning for the role of village idiot.

Ah, Bristol Rovers. I remember going there when they were playing in Bath and they had a chant aimed at the Football Genius - "Number 2's a homosexual". I've never heard a chant like that before and I'm also not sure what Crumps had done to earn that accolade. Bizarre bunch of fans.

Personally, I'd like City to go up, my niece has moved to Bristol and it would be a good excuse to visit.

If they beat The Biggest Club The World Has Ever Seen tonight, they'll qualify for the play-offs.

Last time they were in the top flight was 1979/80.

Nice place to go for an away trip. It's been a while since Sidders from the half-way line...
These days, I only get to see us if we play either of the 2 Bristol clubs, Swindon, or Cardiff, so I'd love to see Bristol City get promoted.

Was last at Ashton Gate when Steve Sidwell scored with a cheeky lob from the half-way line.

If City went up they could attract an overseas, big-money investor. Huge potential. It's such a shame to see the Gas Heads going in the other direction again.

This is their own ground...the rugby club went into administration and they bought it for peanuts.

They have a tax exile in charge Steve Lansdown of Hargreaves Lansdown.
