I think it was "we know what we are, Champions of a Europe"

Which, again, is and was total bollocks.
But it definitely won’t be if we were to win it.

The kids behind me were convinced for sometime that they were singing about "sherbet" rather than "German", which led to some confused conversations.

Other people thought they were saying "De Zerbi's right" (a throwback) or about a "turban" instead of "German".

It wasn't very clear exactly what they were chanting yesterday, but it definitely sounded like one or more of them were about a gerbil ...
Strangely I thought one of their fans looked suspiciously like Richard Gere

Wasn't there also something along the lines of - You're nothing special, we lose every week.

I thought they were singing “De Zerbi’s right, you’re f***king shite” at Potter in the first half but then I realised that would probably have had to come from us. @Bozza corrected me on that at half time and told me the story about the German.

When they were winning they also sang “how shit must you be, we’re winning away”. Well played lads. Well played.

Leaving via the coach park at the end of the game not one, but two West Ham fans said nice things to me about our club. Totally not what I expected from previous encounters with their number. One chap gave me a rueful smile and said "well done Brighton, that's football isn't it? You deserved the win. Hope you get Europe".

Maybe there's hope for Leeds fans too.
