Albion U-18s drew 1-1 at home to Reading today (Albion's goal was an own goal).

U-16 Bode Newnham-Reeve made his full debut and fellow U-16 (and centre-back) Tobi Akapo made his debut as a substitute. Also making his debut as a substitute was U-15 Fraser Widdop.

Yeah, not featuring for the U-21s says a lot. Talent alone isn’t enoughplayers need the right mindset and chances to progress. That Luis Garcia case is a good reminder that early hype doesn’t guarantee success. Hopefully, Gorman finds the right path, wherever that may be.

Albion 2nd-year scholar Corbin Mthunzi has moved to Ipswich Town and signed a two-year professional contract.

He follows Josh Lewis who moved to the Tractor Boys in July last year.

...

I know of a couple of the U-16s who have been released - Harvey Boddy has signed with QPR and Aussie Pugh has joined Brentford, by the looks of it.
I guess Aussie Pugh was just having a trial with Brentford. For the last few days he has been playing for the Red Bull New York U-16s at the Generation Adidas Cup in Florida.

Only just seen that 2nd-year scholar goalkeeper Alfie Mansell played for Burgess Hill Town in their final regular season fixture at Littlehampton Town on April 26 (with their spot in the play-offs already secured, a number of Hill youngsters featured in the squad). A nice moment for Alfie as his dad Gary is joint manager (alongside Jay Lovett).

I believe Mansell is being released by Albion - he was on a tour of the US in March (alongside Albion 3rd-year scholar Harry Lee) as part of a "Premier League Futures" squad (presumably looking to secure US scholarships).
