Down to 10th, with Palace on our heels.
Albeit a point further away than before Saturday.Down to 10th, with Palace on our heels.
And one fewer game in which to catch us.Albeit a point further away than before Saturday.
I know it will need a big improvement from us but does 8th get Europe if Newcastle make the top 5 and Forest or City win the FA cup (and finish top 5)?Mini-league of 3 now with us, Bournemouth and Fulham all bidding to lift the 8th place trophy.
Gawd knows! - there's so many permutations I haven't a clue! ............................but since you ask, probably not (I think)!I know it will need a big improvement from us but does 8th get Europe if Newcastle make the top 5 and Forest or City win the FA cup (and finish top 5)?

Still plenty to play for and at worst we'll finish 13th best team in Englandmore likely higher providing we can get a win from last 6 as can't see Everton catching us despite their good form. Palace and Brentford, I'm not so sure about particularly as we play Brentford next

Both Bournemouth and Fulham have practically a full squad.I am very much in the “It is what it is“ camp now. I refuse to go into any of the remaining games expecting anything other than capitulation. We are getting rather good at it. Hope I end up being surprised. No idea how many key injuries Fulham and Bournemouth have but they both seem more capable than us of finishing the season well imo. Both would have blown Leicester away in a home game that really mattered.
Mid table will not be a bad end result with a rookie manager who seems incapable of changing in game play and an injury crisis all season.
Signing defenders with pace in the summer window is critical given the decline of Dunk, the injury records of Webster, Ferdi, Lamptey and Veltman and the confusing and pointless looking signing of Cashin.
This. Our squad is too injury hit now to get excited or expect too much. The last two performances and results have showed this.I am very much in the “It is what it is“ camp now. We should be aiming to maintain a top 10 finish. It will take some incredible effort to get top 8 IMO. I hope the last few games are good performances so we end positively.
If they continue to serve up the passive rubbish like the last two, and fall out of that top 10, that will be dissapointing.
Without researching in any detail, my perception is that Fulham and B'mth (and Brentford and Palace) have much more stable squads than we have, not big changes from season to season; they sell a little, buy a little (cannily). They certainly haven't tried to shoehorn in eight new players to their first team squad this season, like we have. Both Bournemouth and Fulham have practically a full squad.
All three of us (Us, Fulham and B'mth) are stuttering a bit; no chance of scientifically predicting who will come out on top. Momentum slightly with B'mth, but only because they were the only winners this weekend.Fulham & Bournemouth Both have to play Villa and City
Fulham have Chelsea and Bournemouth play Arsenal
We still have Liverpool & Newcastle to play.
Arguably we have the easier run in, not that the quality of the opposition matters that much
Yeah agree with this in principle.Without researching in any detail, mu perception is that Fulham and B'mth (and Brentford and Palace) have much more stable squads than we have, not big changes from season to season; they sell a little, buy a little (cannily). Well this is the issue - we have Christie out for the rest of the season, which is a massive loss - and with Kluivert out too we're not the same team as the press just isn't as good. Both Bournemouth and Fulham have practically a full squad.
