Yeah, but we made Europe two seasons ago.....why have we not kicked on from there ?
I actually think we have. 3 seasons ago was the first time we’d ever finished in the top half of the top flight. We’re now spending a 3rd consecutive season competing in the top half. It’s all relative, but 3 years ago the goal was to be regularly in the top 10. That is kicking on, qualifying for Europa League was a huge bonus.

He’s really quite demanding of his managers but for the avoidance of doubt there’s a vast distance between wanting better performances and sacking someone
Spot on.

Whilst being on the outside, I fully believe that our manager is falling short, that doesn't mean people who see him more regularly and know what else is going on won't feel differently.

And even if they too think he is falling short, the question will be, do they think it is his fault?

And if they do, then they will question if he can improve?

There are a lot of steps between the on pitch let downs and dismissal

But I'm sure losing twice to palace will be nothing if we have a poor performance next Saturday!

We have signed a lot of good young talents who are generally doing well for us or could do well in the future.

The signings I mentioned - the established and generally older (Fati aside, but he was certainly established) ones - haven't worked out. Or do you have any examples of established players that we've brought in in the 2 last years with any amount of success? Not ruling out that I could have missed one or two.
Feels harsh to suggest Ferdi "hasn't worked out"

If he's upset, he'll have look at the medical team as this is two seasons in a row where injuries have ravaged our season. Maybe he needs to tweak the transfer strategy to look at purchasing more ready defenders.

Pedro has been one of our best signings in the past few years.
He cost £30m, which is a chunky sum and a sum which carries a certain expectation.
In that light has he been that successful?
Take away his penalties (which have been deadly tbf) his goal tally is nothing special.

JPVH - that’s successful. Arrived for not very much, now a high performing premier league player.

We've had key players constantly injured for the last two seasons, any club would struggle that.
Exactly. But yesterday was poor on every level. A scratch side with an injured captain. It was so f***ing blatantly obvious that we were not going to put the ball in the net from open play, against a team that had finally got a goal after several games and were growing in confidence while ours just wilted!!! Sure up midfield with Wieffer, go five at the back. Tell Bart to f***ing launch the ball over the top. GRIND IT OUT.

Overall, I think he'll feel ok about things, we are still in the top 10.
This year was always going to be transitional, the time to judge Hurzeler will be next season.
Going into the summer, the defence needs a major overhaul and we badly need some more experience and leadership in the squad.

I’ve read some bollocks but saying Pedros goal tally is nothing special and asking if he’s been that successful is ridiculous

The line in the sand could be Europe.
Given the world and his wife are qualifying this season, Bloom will surely expect us to at least make the conference league.
If we don’t qualify I don’t think Fab’s age and the rookie manager thing will buy him time. He is not on an apprentice wage. Bloom recruited him to win.
In that scenario Fab would not survive a poor start to next season .

Do you know how many non-penalty goals he’s scored this season ?

If he wasn’t ‘happy’ we’d know about it by the fact that changes would be made, if he has to act he does, Poyet, Hypia, Hughton , RDZ, it’s all there in black and white, or should that be blue and white. 😂

People talk about ‘Spursy’ but it’s we’ve got a bit of that ourselves, four bad results yet it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that we go on and win the next 6 and still get into either the Europa League or Conference.
I think europa league is out now. Could easily be 8 points away from it by this evening with 7 to play (and chelsea and Newcastle having games in hand). Conference league is in my view the last realistic target

So he’s scored 22 goals, for us I would say 10 pens so 12 non pens and that’s with out looking it up
5 non pen goals this season. which is not terrible (and of course the pens do count)but not great for a £30m striker imo.
So far I would say the return on our £30m investment has been so-so.
For major success story look up Moises Caicedo.

If he's going to sack someone, I think David Weir is living a more dangerous time than Fabian Hurzeler.

There's no algorithm in the world saying we've got good value out of our established (Wieffer, O'Riley, Ferdi, Dahoud, Igor, Fati, Milner) signings the last two years.
This!

I've only just seen this and can't agree more. I was saying yesterday to another lifelong fan this very point although injuries are a key part in oriley and ferdi, whilst Igor looked good this season. Fati and dahoud were allegedly RDZ targets
