This is not true. Whilst marketing authorisation is/can be conducted by the EMA (EU), pricing is at the country level. There is nothing to stop the US negotiating a lower price...if it can. For example, it's in exactly the same position as the UK when it comes to this.

The issue is more to do with their f***ed up health care system....the US has the highest health spend per capita on health in the world by a long way, yet one of the lousiest services on many levels. This high spend does not even adequately cover a large chunk of their population so you could make a case that the spend is even higher per person. Trump should be asking where all this money goes....not sticking tariffs on drugs.
1 Trump is very lax when is comes to facts & figures (tells lies) so who says that is actually the price difference.
2 What mark-up do US hospitals & doctors put on drugs, they will make a profit on them. They are the ones he should be after.

Didn't Johnson say a while back a Trump second term would be good for the world?

Yep:

"& to argue that he would back Ukraine"
As accurate as usual there, Boris...
Unlike Boris to get so many things wrong!

Just seen a video clip on LBC where Farage said he has never agreed with the tariffs, thinks Trump did "too much, too soon", and got it wrong. Said he had "done a Liz Truss"
Is this the same Nigel Farage who, in the immediate aftermarth of the Truss budget, said 'Today is the best Conservative budget since 1986'?

Another dissenting voice removed....The (female) Colonel in charge of the Greenland base that JDV visited, has been sacked - effective immediately.
US Military saying that it "would not tolerate any actions that go against President Trumps agenda"
But but - they are the paragons of upholding free speech they tell us.

This seems to have been her 'crime'

Trump is 100% going to lose this trade war with China.
Given China is a massive supplier to loads of industries in America and China owns so much American currency I suspect you will be right. China will not back down either!

I saw a bit of Newsnight last night and an analyst described how they'd been preparing for the Trade War with the US for a number of years. They are going to outmanoeuvre this idiot at every turn. It's not like he has surrounded himself with the sort of expertise that could see him get the best outcome for the US, he is flanked by imbeciles.

The problem comes when Trump goes George Double-ya and declares 'you're with us or against us' in an effort to make other countries to match his tariffs against China.

Most countries will tell him to do one. I wonder what Starmer will do when presented with that stark option. He can't keep his head down forever.

I am not a big Starmer fan, but going for a low profile and keeping schtum for the moment I can’t criticise. We are a grain of sand in world influence these days. Confronting the thick bullying buffoon running America when you have so little influence is a bad idea imo.

China, however, is a different case, he won’t get anywhere trying to bully them.

I suspect there’s a big difference between what’s being said publicly and what’s being discussed behind closed doors.

For example, it’s interesting that two senior officials made unannounced (to the UK media) visits to China this week.
