Okay, from the class signed in the summer only, who is going to kick on next season and who do we need to kick out (if any).

This isn't about scapegoats, it's about who you think will cut it.

The list:

Georginio Rutter £46m

Yankuba Minteh £35m

Mats Wieffer £32m

Brajan Gruda £31m

Ferdi Kadıoğlu £30m

Matt O'Riley £29m

Stefanos Tzimas £25m

Ibrahim Osman £19m

Diego Gómez £13m

Eiran Cashin £10m

Malick Yalcouyé £7m

Amario Cozier-Duberry FREE

Pretty damning assessment when you'd only definitely keep 3 players.

Keep them all of course. Some people take longer to settle than others and to write someone off after one season and not many appearances in a TRANSITION season is a little silly if you ask me. Those who have played regularly (10 or more 1st XI starts) for us this season haven't done too bad.

Ship them all OUT as far away as possible – along with 'the worst manager in the Premier League' – and let's hope and PREY that another £200m isn't SPAFFED up the wall again in the summer

After watching the pre-season games, I ws pretty sure Weiffer was going to take the Baleba role and suspected O'Riley would join him.

Baleba's performances in the early season, changed things quite a lot.
But I wonder whether we would have been better off, if Weiffer had been given the opportunity to develop.

Baleba's an incredible player, but he's also a bit erratic.
I suspect he will be off, before we really get to really reap the benefit on the pitch of developing him.

I suspect Weiffer will be a decent player, but he really hasn't had the opportunity to prove himself in his preferred role.

Rutter and Minteh no question

Gomez and Ferdi have shown enough in their time so far to justify sticking with

Gruda is fine but needs a loan to bulk up (a season in the Championship would do him the world of good)

O'Riley and Wieffer haven't had a chance to show what they can do through injuries, give them that at least

Cashin as a squad player but that part of the squad should be the focus of any summer investment

Can't speak for the loanees

Was going to start something similar, given all the talk about the signings on the Fab thread. It's not really a case of keep / bin for me (and, yes, I understand that's what you're after @Hamilton ) but more who has worked out, who has the potential to and have we done any WTF signings?

Worked Out
Rutter - already probably one of my favourite Albion signings and players. An absolute diamond. Can see now why we triggered the release clause despite feeling it was a risk at the time.
Minteh - another one I really like. He has three natural attributes you can't teach - pace, energy and a willingness to back track. His touch and decision making can let him down sometimes but these can be worked on in training and games

High Potential
Gruder - great technical player that finds space. Sometimes looks like he doesn't know what comes next, needs to be stronger. Both can be worked on. Long term a potential diamond. Currently? Needs work.

Kadioglu - no doubt at all he'd be a big tick in 'worked out' but for the injury. Will be like signing a new player when fit again.

Gomez - I absolutely love this guy when he's"on". Unfortunately his style means that lasts for 50 mins. Either need to make him a calmer 90 minute player or accept he'll have impact for just over half a game. Definitely a boat load of potential though.

Some Potential

O'Riley - heard rumours he's not settling and certainly seems lightweight. Would be very happy to be proven wrong on both cases as there's something there nonetheless.

Don't get it.

Weiffer - seems to have been perma injured and was even when we signed him. Now fit again he's playing back-up, back-up, back-up right back.

Cashin - I got stick for writing him off but it's based on his speed and physicality. You can make up for it to an extent by game reading. At 23 and with only lower Championship experience he's not going to have this either. A full season loan needed next season. May be the next Matt Clarke.

No idea

All the others, but surely there's some good ones in there?

So 5 - 6 to me are keep for sure, one is loan out for sure and Weiffer I just don't know one way or another. It's really not a bad hit rate if we're honest. They weren't all going to be amazing immediately.

Rutter, Minteh, Gruda, Wieffer, Ferdi, Tzimas, Yalcouye, Gomez staying with the club for next season. If all these work out in the end - no idea, but I think they'll be in our squad next season.

O'Riley could get sold I think. Not a bad player but likely not close to the starting eleven with everyone fit and he should still have decent value.

Osman, Cashin and Cozier-Duberry out on loan.

Georginio Rutter - KEEP - Stepped up brilliantly and FH has found his perfect place and has proven his qualities. Hopefully the injury doesn't affect his pre-season as he could be on fire when the season starts.

Yankuba Minteh - KEEP - So much potential, keep adding experience to his role and listen to Solly about decision making and he will improve his G/A massively next season.

Mats Wieffer - KEEP - Dogged by injury just when he was starting to look good and even scored for us against West Sham. Will be interesting to see how he gets on next season with a full pre-season behind him.

Brajan Gruda - KEEP/LOAN - Again a lot of potential, needs to bulk up but also shoot more instead of trying those intricate little passes. Also be good to get some crosses into the box. I'm unsure on whether to loan him or not. Depends on pre-season (and whether Solly is properly back), if he bulks up and is flying in pre-season then keep.

Ferdi Kadıoğlu - KEEP - Again was just starting to look really good, hopefully will be the same or if not, better for next season.

Matt O'Riley - KEEP - Injuries have really affected him ever since the first game, you do wonder whether it's just not going to work out however, there is a player there. He needs to settle into a rhythm and regain his confidence. Although I can't see him dislodging Rutter for the no10 role, so maybe an 8 but I think Ayari/Weiffer/Gomez would be better there. Depends on him what he wants to do, if he feels it's been a disaster and has been bad voodoo signing for us, he might want to leave.

Stefanos Tzimas LOAN - Depends on what shape Ferguson comes back in, if he's playing well in pre-season then Stefanos could go on loan.

Ibrahim Osman - LOAN - Played well in patches for Feyenoord but not enough to be part of the first team squad I don't think. Another loan is likely.

Diego Gómez - KEEP - Get a good preseason behind him and he could be some player for us next season. You can see how he ghosts into scoring positions and I think he has been unlucky not to score yet.

Eiran Cashin - KEEP - A Stats signing, but let's give him time. Don't think he would get ahead of Boscagli (if he signs) or another LCB (can't see Igor staying) but be good for the early cup games. However if we go all out in signing defensive players this summer (when we went all out on attacking players last summer), he could be very low down the pecking order come September.

Malick Yalcouyé - LOAN - A brilliant season so far with Sturm Graz however it seems too easy for him at that level. Needs to go to a top level to see how he does then. I hope we keep Baleba for one more season and then we can bring in Malick to take over from 26/27 season.

Amario Cozier-Duberry - LOAN - Needs to settle in a good side and play a full season before considering coming back into the frame.

Probably the best of the £200M summer splash-out bunch. The selling clubs in the summer must all have thought we're the new Chelsea though. If some of the signings don't improve our team (and some won't), we're likely to have to take a hit if we need to move them on - there ain't no Caicedo (or even Cucurella) size incoming bids likely to feature!

A season at a high end Championship club - wouldn't object to that. English football and a sterner test than Sturm Graz.

Presumably that's what he was supposed to be doing at Blackbirn; he hasn't.

Ferdi; such a frustrating season for him but he’s a great signing and will be like a new player for us next season. Can play left and right back. How we would have benefitted from that this season.

Yalcoure; looks very promising. Can see him being assessed in pre season re whether he’ll make the grade for 2025/26 or sent out on a higher quality loan.

Others covered well by other posts.

We’ve got some real talent but desperately need a new centre back, with pace please.
