My mojo has dropped a bit, down to a 6. It was disappointing to lose all three of our most recent games. The Forest match we acquitted ourselves well, but once it went to pens a bit of experience will usually have an advantage over youth.

The Villa match we were exposed when we pushed up looking for a way back into the game, and Villa have an effective and pacy attack, I didn’t really expect a win against them, I can accept that one too.

The Palace game is the one that hurts. I’d say we seem to play with the handbrake on against them. I was looking for a bit of a reaction to the previous two, and didn’t really feel that the individual players in the team were on the same wavelength.

We looked tired, a bit joyless, and the season is a fair way from over. Having said that, we’ve had a couple of dips already this season, and we’ve come out of them, so, disappointed but not despairing.

Quite so, although I'm sure a fair few thought it was all over following that 7 - 0 defeat, and look what happened afterwards.
We're more than capable of making this season another memorable one - and for the right reasons.
Ofc, the injuries to Webster and Rutter have made the task harder, but we are constantly injury-ravaged (or so it seems), yet we're still in with a very decent shout.

6. Feeling deflated after losing to Palace for the second time this season. Awful. I’ll get over it in a week or two.

Dipped to a 7, but overall alright as we’re about where I expected at the start of the season (which given the injury issues is pretty good considering). Any European place (including the conference) will represented a good season

If you were on the Palace party bus carriage to London bridge last night and were a 10 after that, you must have been on the Ket or similar.

Stuff like that makes the good days great though.

Went on brilliant stadium tour today with Mrs P, and P the younger, as present from daughter.
Come a long way since the Goldstone.
Went to Palace yesterday, thought we played well, can't fault commitment from squad.
TBH this last week's results could have gone in our favour, as other tight games have.

This. We’ve had a ton of tight games that could have gone either way. They did :shrug:

I personally thought preseason and have said about 40 times since, through the ups and the downs, that top half and a cup run would make a good finish for us, given the number of new signings, new inexperienced manager and terrible form from the end of last season.

Well, we’re 9th, 6 points off 4th, a penalty shoot out away from a Wembley cup semi final.

Moreover, we’re 9 points ahead of Manchester United, 10 points ahead of Tottenham, and have three very winnable fixtures coming up back to back.

I have to laugh looking at the public polling, people voting 1’s and 2’s - funnily enough almost all of which I have on ignore for being either obvious trolls or incredibly thick.

Again, 9th in the league. Cup quarter finalists. 6 points off 4th. Mojo: 1. :LOL:

6/10 - could do better.

Not that I'm unhappy with the current league position (I've always thought European qualification was a bit beyond this squad), but they have dropped too many points against teams we could have beaten.

Whenever I see this I think the same. We beat some of the top teams. If we had beaten the lower teams as well, we’d be in the top 4, or challenging for the title.

Yet you think European qualification is beyond this squad.

So how does it work, swap the wins against better sides for wins against lower sides? That would actually hurt our league position, because they’re 3 points we’re getting that top sides aren’t.

What specifically do you feel he didn’t learn from the last Palace game?

Yesterday, in my opinion, was more a failing of the players than Fab.

Went 7 but was torn between 6 and 7 TBH, losing to Palace sucks and it’s clearly been a bad week

BUT…there’s still a huge amount to play for this season, we’re right in the mix for Europe and have a half decent run in compared to come of the others. We can still do this. Losing Rutter (and Webster) is a kick in the teeth but it’s a chance for the squad to step up. And the absolute worst case scenario sees us battling to finish in the top half, which TBH was where I expected us to be at the end of this season before it started.

Probably a 7 or an 8. Still plenty to play for, hopefully.
