Rape of Hastings, Sussex
He's more of a white ball player really. I wouldn't expect him to achieve it. Graeme Hick managed to do it because of his 405 against Somerset that May.

I saw him play in a match at Northampton around that time. He was still qualifying. One of the best batsman I've seen. Just seemed to shrivel up in an England shirt.
A long qualification period into his 20's, a Test series debut against Ambrose, Patterson, Walsh and Marshall and the pre central contract era and the constant threat of getting dropped easily didn't help Hick.

Banton only needs another 61 to pass Hick's score of 405 though and his strike rate of 90.28 is nuts. With another 6 games to come, good weather and a bit of luck etc - I wouldn't discount it just yet.

If Somerset bat on, and if he stays in and scoring at the same rate, Lara’s record would be in jeopardy, never mind Hick’s

I see James Rew scored 150 as well. He'll be England's keeper in all formats before long.

Slightly concerned Sussex could capitulate tomorrow morning and we lose this!

You wouldn't be a Sussex fan if you thought otherwise. I was foolishly considering what would be a decent target to set them. I shall sit at cow corner and repent of such absurd thoughts.

Definitely would have felt better if we’d been two down and not three.

Dead cert draw.
probably . Although we are still one bad hour away from making it interesting. We should have a dash after lunch to put it out of Warwicks reach

A few things to do and then checking back in at 3 to see if there's a game afoot.
