Andy Naylor frequently corrected the matter on Estupinan, he was fit, but then picked up a completely new injury in that game.

If I recall didn't RDZ say he ignored medical advice and risked Welbeck against Palace once, and it paid off with a stunning injury time header. Who complained then?

Two sides to every argument. Players playing through pain when desperate is nothing new here, unless people are desperate to force a weird agenda. But of course, most people can see the main reason for our drop off last year was an injury crisis, so of course the haters have to try to pin that on him as well. So weird.
Hopefully you will give FH the same length of rope as injuries have been bad this season and are heading for worse again.

Just be consistent eh?

As long as FH doesn’t go finger pointing and whinging, he is dealing with the injuries in a far more professional and less childish manner and will not be shown the door in the same way as RDZ was.

Set up against Palace with the same tactics as we did against Forest and especially Villa I might be calling for his head though

And the few lovers he has left will continue to defend everything he did and said. Is that less weird?
That you and De Zerbi share the idea that the club is shite and incompetent doesn't mean you need to pop in every time someone isn't licking his feet. I put the Potter thread on ignore, maybe time to do the same if you can't take your idol facing some scrutiny.

I really admire the fact though that basically they were in another Poyet situation but dealt with it 100 times better. Well played both.
It's interesting isn't it, and I think you're absolutely right. I thought Bloom and Barber played RDZ superbly.

I find it quite interesting reading the genuine scrutiny about what's happening in Marseille, always a recipe for disaster.

What's not interesting is the weird rewrite of the last couple of years from those with an agenda.

He's right about the injuries though. Every club will have player(s) playing through pain. I had it on good authority that we did very recently, i.e. under Fab.

Where I can't, and won't defend RDZ is this current "observing training from a distance" nonsense or the fact he's defended Greenwood. Both are very, very wrong. But RDZ is also our most successful on field coach ever, the only one to give us European football and then win a Europa League group. A win ratio that was better than both his predecessors. Those are just facts.

And, talking about the need to pop in, you've had 10 more posts on this thread than TBTA.

Again with balance, Hurzeler has a much bigger squad after the board righted their recruitment wrongs in the summer.

But as became apparent during our winning run a few weeks back, injuries have really hampered this season as well. As soon as we were fit and firing we were flying. Now a couple of injuries later and we look shot again

Some people on here (some with an agenda, looking squarely at one particular Swedish chap here) seem quite hell bent of making out that De Zerbi was awful and unprofessional etc. Ultimately fans are never going to turn on him because, he will always be our greatest manager in my eyes until someone else achieves more. No matter how much people bleat on about how he's unprofessional, a narcissist, disrespected the club, you are never going to take that away from people. I will always hold a special place in my heart for him.

Both things can be true at once.

He was brilliant and I loved us under him - exactly like with Gus. But there is enough noise from behind the scenes that he was a nightmare to deal with - it's hardly a leap of faith to believe it. Exactly like with Gus.

I see it like a summer romance. It was brilliant and exhilarating but destined to be fleeting. Still glad it happened, but ok with it being over, because it was always going to be over fairly quickly.

What's not interesting is the weird rewrite of the last couple of years from those with an agenda.
This is what you have claimed in the last twelve months:
- That Roberto De Zerbi isn't around because he didn't have patience to wait with young players, and since thats our model he did left.
- That anyone saying De Zerbi didn't like our model or scouting are "rewriting history", because De Zerbi was "on record" saying he liked it.

Those who have an actual agenda are those who spent the entire 22/23 season blaming injuries and the "unambitious" owner. All of a sudden, having injuries was a perfect excuse for not winning games and not performing. Meanwhile, Zerbi cultists talk about our "winless streak in 2020" when they denounce Graham Potter.
None of them sat in November 2020 and thought "oh, everything is someone elses fault because we have 8 injuries and no manager can ever do anything then". Apparently some managers are expected to perform really well in difficult situations whereas others can blame injuries or not having enough world class players and get away with it.

The difference between the situations is that one manager moaned constantly about it and the other shut his mouth and kept working. This is the main reason why most of the "edgy" (constantly whining) people on NSC fell in love with De Zerbi: they identified with him and his constant, incessant moaning about everything the club, refs or injury gods did or didn't do.

Ah, of course Graham Potter. It always comes back to him with you.

Yawn.

I'll always have a soft spot for RDZ. He behaved wrong and it was right for him to move on. However, I dont remember a manager in recent years, loved by the fans like him. Potter and Fab could only dream of a fans connection like that.
Thats correct.

The world loves a moaning bully. Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Jose Mourinho, Roberto De Zerbi. The list of "he understands me because he moans a lot"-people getting appreciation in modern society is virtually endless. People like angry people. No news.

You’ll regret this latest rant when you sober up. I can feel it.
