I imagine this is very much the case. If you know you know, and this allows the players involved to get on with their break of fast peacefully.Connected to Ramadan and probably not announced due to fears of grumpy gammons booing it.
Have you tried using Google?... First result.. https://www.premierleague.com/news/... be observed by,during a Premier League match. Can't find it mentioned anywhere else on here. What was that all about. And why weren't the fans told what was going on? Very poor communication. Someone said it was something to do with ramadan.
Of course the fans should have been told. No explanation is inexcusable.![]()
FA Cup: Matches to pause for fasting Muslim players during Ramadan
FA Cup matches that take place during Ramadan will briefly pause to allow Muslim players to break their fast.www.bbc.co.uk
Players will have known, not sure why fans needed to know? Has been reported about in the media for those who are interested to find out about it. Only approx timings due to sunset timings. Probably not something Richard Reynolds was going to shout about on the tannoy, to keep the breaking of fast respectful and dignified.
Most people round us (ands us as well) knew what it was, and its on various after match threads on hereCan't find it mentioned anywhere else on here. What was that all about. And why weren't the fans told what was going on? Very poor communication. Someone said it was something to do with ramadan.
Stupid answer. Why should fans have to use google during a game to find out what is happening on the pitch? An announcement to keep customers informed would have been very simple.Have you tried using Google?... Inexcusable is a bit strong, it would have been helpful. Albeit, this is the fifth consecutive year now.Of course the fans should have been told. No explanation is inexcusable.
With the greatest respect, a five minute unexplained break in play is not "a single little thing".Most people round us (ands us as well) knew what it was, and its on various after match threads on here, and has happened in plenty of games so far over the past few weeks.
Fans dont need to be told every single little thing about everything and as above it was publicised ahead of time as well

also with respect, it was explained, that you weren't aware doesn't mean no one else was. The vast majority of people round us knew, and as shown by the links above it was publicisedWith the greatest respect, a five minute unexplained break in play is not "a single little thing".
Oh you've done it now. Some snarky type will be along in a minute to tell you - like they told me - that "ignorance is no excuse and its been happening in football for years". Despite it being enough of an unknown to warrant its own very recent BBC articleCan't find it mentioned anywhere else on here. What was that all about. And why weren't the fans told what was going on? Very poor communication. Someone said it was something to do with ramadan.
Muslims fast during daylight, and break fast at sundown. During years where Ramadan is over summer then it makes days very long for fasting. During winter months it makes it much shorter. This is the custom, the player can’t choose when to break their fast for convenience. Why do they have to break their fast during a game?
