Argus suggesting Barca interested but not for another year
To me it would be no massive deal if he left this summer already.
I think he's a pretty good goalkeeper who can become one of the very best, but I don't think his style of play suits our needs.

Gegenpress teams like us should have a Neuer/Alisson-like keeper who is proactive and comes out of the box to intercept the chancey direct passes opponents do to get out of our press. His shot stopping and passing is fine but he's way too glued to line for my liking.

I’d rather he didn’t go for at least another season, improving all the time. We would struggle to replace him with anyone as good as he currently is.

I disagree, he is currently at best an average PL keeper. What makes him interesting for big clubs is that he's 10+ years younger than most of them.

As an aside - there's got to be a funny chant somewhere in this.

Man, the real Bart Verbruggen...

DA DA DA DA DA DA DA!

Also the perfect response to the homophobia

Before the Hull loan Rushworth's stock was very high and his progression had been pretty much faultless. Perhaps he gets the gloves and we take £60m for Bart.

From what I saw of Beadle in the England U21 games last week, he is a long way from being ready.
Same, I’ve watched quite a bit of him in the league and he makes some great saves but he is very error prone, as expected for such a young player. He’s some way off being ready for the PL

My Wednesday supporting mate said similar. Great shot stopper but his inexperience shows in other parts of his game.

Not really surprising given that he's 20 and Keepers don't tend to come into their prime until their late 20s. The number of errors Bart makes is very low for a 22-year-old keeper playing at this level.

So was Verbruggen at the start of last season! Anyway, a couple of seasons of Rushworth, until we sell him to Barca (are they still looking at him?) and Beadle will be two years older and more experienced. Couple more season loan fees foe Beadle will bring in a few bob too.
Job's a good 'un.

If we made Europe would we really want to go into next season with a number 1 keeper who had never played a top level game in his life?
