Another vote for SmartTube if you have an android device e.g. nVidia Shield or google tv.

Cuts out adverts and sponsorships and self promotion, even if put in as part of the video.

I accidentally put YT on the other day, got hit with unskippable adverts, then another load 2 minutes later.

Install SmartTube and never look back

It's great, I get some issues a couple of websites but switch to Chrome for them.

Don’t know if it’s a premium feature or if everyone gets it but the feature to skip ads that are hard baked in to the video is one of the best recent features any website has added. I hope whoever came up with it got a big kiss on the cheek and an early finish on the Friday.

Not directly related, is anyone here tried nebula.tv? A lot of the people whose games-related content I watch on YouTube are on there, so I've been toying with the idea. Like, I'm not opposed to the idea of paying them for the stuff I watch, they're the ones actually putting the work in and making the content. I just don't want to be paying big tech companies for it, and I find the number and frequency of ads YouTube forces on free users to be absolutely intolerable (I have ADHD, YouTube with ads is literally unwatchable to me).
