Are you being facetious? I think comparing the issues we've ever had with our government to what's happening in the US makes light of their issues. It's like saying replying to 'Russia invaded Ukraine' with 'Ukraine hasn't had an election'.

Soz trig, a poor attempt at humour, referencing Nigel Fascist as a pound land Trump and our poor education system

Yeah, which is why I chose the word significant carefully, I appreciate it might not help Ukraine.

Apparently, at last year’s parade, there were drone jammers everywhere. Surely it’ll be the same again this year
I'm sure the Moscow elite will be impressed with the parade of T-55's, golf carts, bikes and horses that the Russian army seems to use when attacking these days !!

MOD procurement really does need to find out how they do this along with drone technology instead of their usual snails pace expensive ways. We need to be building weapons at speed to increase our stock and to have excess for Ukraine.
This country’s ability to build heavy armaments independently, let alone a pace, is a pipe dream.

The level of industrial decline in this country has been in the post for a while, I’m not sure if this status has been fully understood by people yet.

Maybe the MOD should get in touch with the Ukrainians to see if they can send us some some of their stuff.

Can we not continue to import steel? What's the relevance of this to the thread?

Why are you being irreverent? It's like you're just here to mock everyone.

Zelensky is challenging Trump for a response. It's show time.

It's been coming, Eric.
Well done Zelenskiy for calling out Trump 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

I don't actually think this is wise. Trump will not react in a rational way saying 'Yes Zelenskyy, Russia are out of line so we'll punish them'.

I think Zelenskyy would be better saying something like 'this war has been going on for 3 years and President Trump and his team have put a lot of effort into agreeing a ceasefire, and Russia have broken it at the first opportunity', so it's more flattering of the US, rather than sounding like an ultimatum.

But there is no ceasefire. Is there?

You are asking a very valid question, the answer to which I'm not sure anyone has the definitive answer.

Just another manifestation of the utter chaos, incompetence and failure of the Trump administration.

I don't know what they have or haven't agreed. Like you I thought there wasn't, because Russia says they won't have a ceasefire without sanctions being removed, but I don't know what Trump has told Ukraine. Maybe he'd given them reason to believe there was a ceasefire, and if not I'm not sure why Zelenskyy is saying this.

Especially as the 'ceasefire' they were discussing recently (re the sanctions aspect) was Black Sea Maritime. The energy infrastructure one has never been in place I don't think.

All very puzzling.
