I wonder how many people who have posted on this thread and had a jolly good moan about anything and everything about the Terrace will actually use it? There seems to be a lot of criticism and yet the place hasn’t even opened yet. Poor old Tony must be thinking “Why the f*** do I bother.”
Apologies if I've contributed to that. I'm just genuinely concerned that this could inadvertently have a negative impact on a couple of things I've really enjoyed about the Amex - a beer outside before and staying in the North after.

Also, pretty sure this is very much a business driven investment rather than some sort of benevolent favour from "poor old Tony".

Thankfully the internet is not real life. The place will be packed and people will enjoy it. I expect some teething problems Saturday and some moans, it kind of goes with the territory.

I can't wait to see it in action.

Well, we know there is capacity for 2,000 people to use The Terrace outside, we're just not sure how that's going to operate.

I'm sure the club do though, and we'll hopefully be able to find out on Saturday as the weather looks to be good.

You mean the alleged £40m that’s being coughed up for the fan zone and development of the North Stand? I’d like to think all parties will benefit from this investment.

Yeah I hope so too. But we're allowed to say if we aren't sure about it, right? Or do we have to just to say it's amazing because Tony Bloom spent money on it?

Quite. Some of the cloying infantile fawning sycophancy on this thread seems to imply that someone as shrewd as Bloom made his money by giving it away to a bunch of sneering ingrates, like some dimwitted Father Xmas.

Shock news: it’s a business venture. A way to make profit. Nothing wrong with that. It’s not an act of charity.

Dare say the business case has been nailed down to the penny. It's still nice to be given access to nice things tho eh?

A bit of both I reckon. There are certain processes that the club have implemented that I’m not in favour of - the hoops you have to go through to transfer your season ticket for a match to friends and family as one example. On the other hand, along with probably 100% of Albion fans, I am eternally grateful that Tony Bloom is our owner and has done so much to ensure the success of our club and our enjoyment.

My own view is that nobody is mandated to use this. It's available and some will, some won't. Some weeks I will, most I won't but I'm not going to complain about it.

I may use it this week as not using the ST bus to the game BUT there is a risk of getting there at say 2 and finding it full and then having to look at uni bars or the Swan until concourse open whereas be in town and you know where you are

I agree but for me the fact that they have put a them and us section in turns it from a fans place to go into a customer venue. Okay put some exclusively in if they feel it necessary for non match day events but not on a match day

Them and us? It's hardly the masons

I bet most of us have a friend who has an Amex credit card. If they have one I bet many have a wife or partner who has a card on the account too. I mean we have had discounts for Amex cards for years. Nobdoy complained about 2 tier pricing then.

If Amex pay x millions per year and in return we offer schemes to help their customer numbers then so be it.

Going by the general reaction on here, I'm excited to rock up at around 4pm and sit down for a couple of bevvies and a bratty in a largely deserted bar area.

Let the haters hate, as someone once warbled.

Sussex but not by the sea
I've got an old BA Amex card that expired in 2022, I'm tempted to take it along to see how observent the stewards are......

My main concern is that this place has the potential to become a) VERY rowdy if it opens 5 hours before KO (I'm thinking some twat throwing beer), or b) like a soft play hellhole. The two scenarios meeting would be interesting.

Despite my moaning to begin with, I just decided to get an Amex so its worked.
