Ashley Walters is very good, I have watched 2 episodes this evening and surprised you are the only one to mention him so far on this thread
Star of Top Boy, a show that has undoubtedly inspired a fair amount of young men to follow the roadman lifestyle and engage in the violence that follows. Hideously ironic if you think about it.

See also Boiling Point with SG for the same. I agree - very complicated.
Brilliant movie. Having worked in the industry for many years, they get it bang on.

Well, no more than any given show about criminals has and in fact possibly less - Top Boy is fairly harrowing stuff.
Strongly disagree. I don't think there are many pieces of media, in this country, that have had the same effect. It may have been harrowing for you and me but elements of it absolutely promoted the lifestyle to young lads. It showed the whole thing as being a sort of noble burden, a "It has to be this way" sort of mentality.

It's football factory but for for stabbing people rather than punching them.

Just seen a clip of the co-writer being interviewed on I think breakfast tv - he is trolled on line as not being a real man, called Jewish and other things. There are some horrible stupid people in the world

Watch it all in one go when it came out.

Had to give my son and daughter a big, long hug afterwards.

I asked my 13 year old son to watch it and he watch it all last night.

Has he promised not to stab people?

Watched it all today.

brilliantly done.

very harrowing.

My boy is 23 and has grown up with a lot of these influences.
He blames feminism for a lot of his challenges in the world.

He also blames my generation of men, for being weak and not guiding his generation well.

I've put my hand up to where I think he has made valid points.
But equally, I have explained to him that I have spent more time with him than my father did with me.

It's a tough one.
There are no easy answers, but we all latch on to the one that resonates best with us.

My son has more faith in Jordan Peterson's opinions than he does in mine.
