Over 3 years on this thread and I have to pinch myself it has come to this. The massacres in Bucha and Irpin, the destruction of the theatre in Mariopol being used as a bomb shelter. The continuous bombing of essential energy infrastructure. The destruction of the dam on the Dnipro. The incessant bombing of hospitals, schools, colleges, playgrounds as well as residential apartment blocks.

And yet, here we are, with the supposed leader of the free world, whitewashing all of this, thinking he has some leverage over Putin, the epitome of a completely malevolent figure in international relations.

Trump is being played like a fool, as most of us knew he would, he had no leverage on Putin. He admires the c**t because that is how he'd like to rule. With no chance of being voted out, a compliant media and judiciary.

Thankfully in Europe we have a few who can see the reality. Whatever my domestic disagreements with Starmer I think he has played an absolute blinder internationally, both with the EU and his coalition of the willing. Tusk, Macron and the new German president deserve praise also. They can see the real enemy. Great to see Starmer spell put to Putin too that the non-compliant West still has teeth. We've sat here for too long accepting the threats from Peskov about escalation. About time he was told its a 2 way street.

Slava Ukraine

Apologies for any incoherence, I've had some Red Wine !!

Now here’s a thing. I certainly don’t believe you as by the evidence of your posts.
I suspect you only really think one of those above is a **** …
Of course you could explain why you think why all three are ****s.
From where I’m sitting, one is a genocidal despot, one is a narcissist in the thrall of the genocidal despot and one is the president of a country that has been partially invaded and subject to atrocities. Do tell.

An update from the UK Ministry of Defense on the International Fund for Ukraine, a multi national fund for the procurement and supply of military equipment.
The UK is the lead and administers the fund. To me this is a sign that, despite Brexit, EU countries are happy the UK is heavily involved in a defense leadership role across Europe. (whether or not we are the best country to take the lead on procurement is a different question).

I’ve no doubt that all of the EU (ok, maybe not one particular Hungarian) is frustrated that Brexit makes this harder.

They’ll also see it as an opportunity to repair some of the damage.

Haven't we been doing this right from the start?

I think under Biden Europe was happy for the US to take the lead, but now bumble**** is playing silly buggers, Europe is organising itself and the UK is taking the lead. Politically this may make it easier for the EU where a number of countries want to lead. The fact that the UK aren’t in the EU it sort of makes sense.

So all that shit stirring stuff about Macron insisting it should be linked to fishing rights is bollocks.

Remember Macron still has to keep his domestic audience onside, so a few jibes against “Les rosbifs” are to be expected and as predictable as the Starmer Government having to pretend that Brexit is fine
