Surely a sub can only be deemed a concussion sub when it's one of your allotted quota? Not as an EXTRA sub when you've made them all already?

I’ve only been following the game on here but if Couchane was one of those replaced it could have been under concussion protocols which doesn’t effect the number of substitutions or windows used. The other team get another sub to use as well.

Technically we are still the holders, winning it at the final attempt in 1958 after playing in every season of that competition. I'm pretty sure that if we had been allowed to retain it then I would have heard about it by now. Maybe the two trophies were just reallocated to the newly formed...

Albion had already used their three windows though before the Chouchane sub was made. I wasn't aware the concussion protocol was still available to a team that had already made use of all their permitted windows.
Any referees on here who can shed any light?

Ifab rules state “ A ‘concussion substitution’ may be made regardless of the number of substitutes already used.”

Well, every day's a school day.
I'm surprised as this would seem to encourage teams, who have already made the maximum number of subs (or used all their windows), in the case of getting a further player injured, trying to designate said player as having a head injury to allow them to be subbed under the concussion protocol.

Yep, best team won. Better display by Albion in 2nd half, but gave the ball away too much and overall didn’t create many chances

The reverse is teams keeping a potentially concussed player on the pitch rather than going down to 10 men.
As the decision over a concussion is normally made by a club doctor there would be professional ethic protocols that would prevent them from just saying a player had a head injury to get an extra substitution. I doubt many doctors would risk their job or entire future career and reputation on something like that.
It’s also been in place a few seasons, with the various trials, and we haven’t seen any clubs resorting to those sort of tactics.
I believe it also activates the concussion protocol after the match, which is a minimum 10 days before being able to play again, I think.

I’d pencilled in the 8th May at the Amex for some reason a while back. The Amex is probably overkill for a Horsham v Littlehampton match

Only if the player is proven to have a concussion. A full assessment is carried out after the player is taken off as it's impossible to determine if they actually have a concussion in such a short time.
Minteh was subbed off against Everton on the first day of the season with a suspected concussion but was cleared by medical staff after the game and able to play the following week against Man United.

I was part of a ‘crowd’ of 148 watching LIttlehampton get a crucial 1-0 win against Stormzy and Zaha backed AFC Croydon last night. From memory we took around 8,000 to Wembley for the Vase final, but it will be a tiny fraction of that if the game is a midweek Amex event. Horsham are obviously better supported but, even so, we’d be rattling around in there. Would be hard to take the reward of playing at The Amex away from the players, though.

It would be nice to have the match at a neutral venue in West Sussex for ease of travel and atmosphere but ground capacities are probably too small (Chichester, Arundel). Hope it’s not in Lancing. Worthing's ground is probably the perfect size for it. As would Crawley's and Eastbourne Borough's (where it was before the amex was built I believe). Possibly even Lewes, Horsham, Hastings, Bognor....
It is a good opportunity for the players to play at the amex but the atmosphere is always quite flat

The BBC fixtures tonight include U21 Friendlies 1 and U21 Friendlies 2 - anyone know the difference (apart from the fact that the BBC includes details of Friendlies 1 but not of Friendlies 2).
I wonder if we have any involvement in any of the U21 (2) matches - O'Mahony for the ROI perhaps?
Edit: after a bit more googling - O'Mahony starts - and Jamie Mullins and Jacob Slater too.

No commentary, but judging by the shirt numbers, O'Mahony and Mullins appear to have been subbed at, or soon after, HT. Can't catch the number on the LB's shirt in the second half (on the far side of the pitch, and never showing his number to the camera. The Jocks won 2-0.
The under-23s lost 3-2 to Monaco who had a strong side out featuring four first-teamers, including Folarin Balogun who scored a hat-trick.
Reads as though Yussif Owusu scored for us, as well as what sounds like an own-goal.
