Even if you accept that it was a double kick, it was clearly not deliberate, why not a retake? Why disallow the goal for a slip? Very much a check the club badge decision for me.
It is (as @Han Solo says ) the correct interpretation of the rules, though it seems an incredibly harsh punishment for an accidental infringement.

If a keeper saves a penalty but is found to be 6 inches off his line, the rule is not to award a goal - the penalty gets retaken and he get an second chance to try to save it. That would seem the obviously fair and reasonable outcome here.

I'm guessing thats how it will be for next season... a flaw in the law book.

What a f***ing poor decision to give a penalty. You are allowed to stand your ground. Foreign refs sometimes are just plain weird

Now a sending off. This ref is going to get a free ST at the circus tent

But, but, I thought they were the BEES KNEES.

It does rather feed into my points about refs. If the Premier League refs were all foreign they would still be getting pelters.

Arsenal really are insufferable. The diving, whinging and delusion almost make Real Madrid seem likeable. Hope they get twatted.
They are, but they really don't almost make RM seem likeable. I'd rather Arsenal went through before being knocked out by a more likeable team.

Really dull so far. You'd expect a better game in a CL QF.

Although having said that, I'm old enough to remember when Forest won it, and those games were mind numbingly bad.

I also wish Shearer had earned a bit more coin when he was playing.
