Are you trying to start a referee/fixed argument with me ? I mean, I've already conceded that he got the red card call badly wrong. Be fair :ROFLMAO:

I wasn't trying to bring the ref into it there, I just thought PSG were so much better that second best was over generous :)

I’m old enough to remember when some on here were adamant Harvey Elliott was signing for us in January…

2nd leg will be interesting. Massive gulf in quality, can't see PSG not scoring again.
I can easily see PSG not scoring, again.
I can also see Liverpool not scoring again in the tie.
It's all about the comma.
And the tie.

Really tough test for Liverpool last night, that they somehow survived.

With the second leg only 5 days away, the Premier League fixture list has been incredibly kind to them. They have Southampton at home, so can happily rest everybody important.

They’ve definitely had a bit of luck this year, as Arsenal fans will queue up to tell you.

From our point of view, I hope Liverpool stay in the competition a little longer and it causes their league form to tail off by just enough so that they clinch the title against Arsenal, the week before they play us.

If they win it sooner than that, both them and Arsenal could end up with dead rubber games against teams around us in the table during the run-in (the week before Liverpool v Arsenal, Arsenal play Bournemouth and Liverpool play Chelsea).

Amazing that Barca were reduced to 10 men after 20 minutes or so and their 1-0 win still wasn’t the smash and grab of the night

It's a gulf in quality on the night, but not in general, so Slot may be able to change things for the return fixture.
Yes, I tend to agree with this, and hope Liverpool go through - but it's difficult to see what Slop can do - that was, I think, his absolute strongest team he put out last night, so it'll have to be something tactical.
Playing at home though, and whether some people like it or not, the Anfield crowd is very much a 'twelfth man'.

Why can't Ally McCoist do commentary for all matches? What a change it makes to have someone actually enjoying watching a game on Comms

That game will be moved though - as we'll be playing in the FA Cup Final that day.

We can hope! Great point though, there will surely be fixtures ramifications for one of the Europe chasers.

On the one hand it’s great that the FA Cup feels wide open. On the other, it’s mildly worrying that it’s quite conceivable someone could win the FA Cup, take a Europa League spot and finish below us🫣

Southampton are to football what 'buffet bowling' is to cricket.

I have been watching Liverpool since 1972, and have never seen any team dominate the Reds as PSG did last night. Liverpool we’re not bad although Trent had a few bad passes and Mo seemed to be taking a rest day, they were just fantastic.
Alison was immense and the way the team held it together was commendable, and it was great to see Nunez play his part in the goal which so easily could have ended up in the top tier, in probably his last season at Anfield. The Reds should have lost 3-0 but it’s a funny old game.
I’m thinking 1-1 in the home leg but it should be another great night.
