Can anyone explain to me why we agreed this mutual thing when we could have just held on to him for a couple of weeks and got the full compensation?!
Did we think he wouldn't have interest from other clubs?

I can only assume there was no guarantee that Chelsea, or anyone else for that matter, would go for him in a timely fashion.

Doing it this way, along with the reported clause that will bag us 75% of the compensation, allows the club to be in control of the situation.

It's actually genius by the club. We're sacking a manager, not only without having to buy out his contract, but also getting us a few quid when he inevitably moves to Chelsea.

Very impressive.

Hmm.
Well let's hope it doesn't back fire. Because if we ended up with Potter the whole thing is going to look a bit daft.

I don't want Potter, BUT after his disaster at Chelsea and RDZ getting us to Europe (and then potentially pissing off to Chelsea), you'd like to think he'd be super motivated to improve on RDZ's record with us and prove to those 'Potter out' Chelsea fans that he is a good manager.

There will be the ultimate boo off with GPott in the home dug out and DeZerbi wearing the shiny gold badge of Chelsea sitting on the away bench. BOOOOOOOOOOO

Their obsession with our players and managers is hilarious.
£8-9m this time I reckon.
I’m sure that a lot of this will come from Winstanley, Jewell, Colwill, Caicedo and Mudryk’s recommendations.
Sanchez…. Maybe not.
Perhaps we can sell them Jason Steele for £15m

Still in Brighton
We never know as most managers are not as high profile as RDZ was. In the same vane I can’t remember a club selling off their two best assets and not replacing them and then as players were dropping like flies, still not replacing them when a transfer window was open.

But hey. What do we know. We are just fans
Comments like this make me laugh. If only the club had thought to Google Caicedo II or MacAllister II we could have replaced like for like easily, like on Fifa, and for peanuts too. I mean every other club does it.

Not really imo. We have had two exceptional seasons, got shot of a hot head who didn’t make the right noises, got some money back and potentially get us back to where we were a couple of years ago when Potter went (at which stage we were doing fine). OK, we’ve lost a couple of world class players, but have money in the bank and a manager who knows and accepts the masterplan, and who will no longer be motivated by money. If Potter’s got the bottle to come back and TB wants him I for one ain’t going to argue.

Why are so many people now going on and on about Potter? Is there a a shred of evidence anywhere to suggest that he would be interested even in the infinitesimally small chance that we would harbour thoughts of getting him back? He AIN'T coming back, get OVER him.

If RDZ gets the Chelsea job and the quoted tweet is true he is a f***ing snake who needs Potter level booing next season imo
If RDZ does as stated is is FAR worse than what Potter did.
We were fully compensated for Potter, for one thing.
This move would make RDZ a disgrace.

We are being compensated wherever he goes. We reached a compromise and the club were obviously happy enough with that.

He said he didn’t have anything lined up though. That looks almost certainly untrue if he hops over to Chelsea

Bit harsh last bit? We let Roberto go, he didn't walk. He wanted different vision which we wouldn't give. He's a free agent so can do whatever he likes......No.. but, if he was tapped, then maybe he can😡😡
Nope. f***ing shit club. All his bleating about the Brighton model and then shipping off to those cheating f***ing wankers. MUCH worse than the pilloried Brummie.

Well a week is a long time in politics let alone football. Potter and his cronies only took 2 days. Without any evidence I'm not throwing any stones his way.

Because he’s the bookies favourite for the job. Sure that doesn’t mean he’s coming back but it very much puts him in the conversation at least.

If we sacked him, why do we stand to get £5m compensation rather than paying up his contract? Doesn’t make sense.
Imagine he has signed a new contract with us, leaving his post two years early and a £15m blocker on the basis £5 has to be paid within the next two years if he works - both parties benefit

In the conversation but it's unrealistic. The betting market is tiny for Brighton managers and some here are getting carried away because of it. I will be very angry if he returns and I reckon most Albion fans feel the same.

Sorry? After we binned him off he’s not meant to work again because it will put a downer on your day?

He can take Steele with him to Chelsea, just to ruin Sanchez's life further :lolol:

Not sure about most. Can’t really see any sign the majority of fans would kick off against anything Bloom eventually decided
