Well whatever happens we won’t damage his career ,either he’s in contention,(and that doesn’t mean 3rd choice!) loaned or sold.IMO he will be loaned out again.

Good point. I think you are right about Sarmiento.
I expect that Ipswich would prefer Rushworth out of the two but it may well be that they don’t have an option and Sarmiento is contracted to stay.

I would Like Rushworth back to battle it out with Bart ideally.
If not a Prem loan to Ipswich would also be good. Not much value for me in another Champ loan.

I can’t see Bart being here more than another season. He is an oustanding young keeper and I think a full season of being first choice for us and the Netherlands will mean we end up with some massive bids next summer we can’t turn down. So I would loan Rushworth for another season with a view to being our number one the following season.

This would be my bet.
I think I’m in a very small minority, but I just don’t see how Rushworth coming back from loan and ‘competing’ with Bart for the number 1 spot works. For a start, I’m guessing that playing GK at elite level is a bit like batting in cricket, whereby you’re only going to get real practice and experience by playing regular senior games against full-blooded attacks in front of 30K+ fans. 6-7 cup games a season, at least half of which will be against lower-level opponents, aren’t going to provide that.
Secondly, what happens to Bart if we revert to Rushworth? We’ve then got a 22 year old international keeper sitting on the bench costing us circa 6.5m a year in amortisation and wages combined. I’d much rather that money was spent on an outfield player that we could rotate as and when injuries/fatigue dictates and who can come off the bench as an impact sub.

A friend pointed out that it’s. Quite an advantage loaning a keeper to another prem side as he can’t play against us but can stop our rivals getting good results against the team he’s loaned to.
Think you've answered your own question there.
Bring on Bart with 20 minutes to go as an impact sub.

Well I see Steele to Arsenal making sense to them. Plays the way they want, doesn't make waves, good around the place. As I believe CH said when giving Casper another year "third goalkeeper is in it's own way a very specialist position".

Roberto said last week that there will likely be a pre-season chance for Rushworth, with Verbruggen at the Euros and McGill in Copa America. So surely makes sense to hold fire on any decisions.
Also, in terms of chances for a back up keeper, a lot of teams have been very reliant on them this season - Newcastle, Chelsea, Liverpool etc.

I did read that, and I was pretty surprised about the McGill bit. He hasn't had a call-up by Canada since the Gold Cup last July (and has never made an appearance for them). In fact, the sum total of his action this entire season has been (**checks notes**) ten appearances for Albion U-21s.
I certainly wouldn't claim to have any knowledge of Canada's other 'keepers, but it's difficult to imagine they will suddenly call him up this summer. He could, of course, be on standby.
I must admit, I find McGill's career "progression" (or lack of it) bizarre.
