Serious question, is Pujara our best player in the last two decades? Given Goodwin and Mushy were around 20 years ago now

WHAT a player.

Second question - what on earth made him want to stay after last season?
The answer (as ever) is Mushy. And he definitely counts as 'last two decades'. He didn't retire until 2008.

478 wickets in 85 matches!

I think of Garth le Roux as being criminally missed as possibly our greatest overseas acquisition. Well, second behind Mushy maybe.

Er .... I know he's in prison now but I think Imran would like a word. Arguably Sussex's greatest ever player - although Ranji may pip him

Well, Garth was in prison, so I guess they still have that in common.

I think actually winning the championship, not once but three times, puts Mushy well above anybody else in the "greatest" argument. "Best" is a different conversation, but you can't really compare a spinner to an all rounder to an opening bat for that.

If we're throwing around players who retired before anybody on here was old enough to have actually seen them, Maurice Tate would be right up there.

For any poor buggers at work, it's time to get the game on the work's computer in the background.
While in Bognor, it's time to make a coffee, put the telly on and watch Sussex make hay in their push back to Div One (while I try and occasionally looking busy).

A bit of a surprise that on a sunny day that Glamorgan after winning the toss have put Sussex into bat.
Ollie Robinson forced to rest by the ECB (they can due to his central contract).

I have a soft spot for Glamorgan. Not a very successful county, but won the title the year I was born. The Tony Lewis era. They were unbeaten that season too. I suspect that could be a record for the 24+ match seasons (although Yorkshire and Surrey fans may be able to point to something during the previous two decades)

Sussex 56/2. Clark fell a little while ago, to a dreadful short - attempting to pull a ball that was about two feet outside his off stump.

Hard-earned wicket for Harris, who has been bowling since the start unchanged. Workhorse.

94/2 at lunch. Good session for Sussex.

The outfield is very quick. The square is so wide, that on one side, the cut strips extend all the way to the boundary!

It might be time for me to admit the fact that Sussex might have genuinely returned to competitive cricket...o_O

Alsop goes cheaply. Pujara, it’s down to you again.

The Glamorgan multi-camera stream, with full graphics is definitely the best so far this season.

Great work Taffs.

It really is very good.

Whoever is the editor (or whatever the title is) is doing a sterling job cutting between the cameras. 👏

I don't want to put a watcher's curse on him, but Pujara is such a beautiful batsman to watch. I could eat his orthodox stroke play.
