In fairness Braintree probably deserved it the path they have taken.

Good pitch invasion too. I love the way the policeman threw the knuckle dragger back who was trying to provoke the Worthing crowd.

Deepest, darkest Sussex
Worthing keeping up the fine Sussex tradition of ballsing it up in the playoffs

Excellent game of football which could've gone either way.

Fair play to Braintree who had to play 3 games, the last 2 of them away to the top 2 playoff sides.

As for Worthing, a Semi-Final last year, a Final this time.

Next season it is then.

I guess after being delayed by at least two years by Covid from getting rightfully promoted, if there is one team that have the balls to come back from losing two playoff finals in the row, it’s Worthing. Good luck next season lads

Fair play to Braintree. 3 x extra time wins to get promoted, doing it away from home too.

As for Worthing, they might have dodged a bullet there not getting promoted with that defence. Commentator said that's the 9th time they've conceded 4 goals this season. National League doesn't have any mug teams, it could have been carnage.

I'm certain that Worthing will be better than ever next season. I like to think that if we had been promoted to the Premier League the season before, we wouldn't have been ready for it - and I think that is the same case for Worthing.

Worthing haven't lost 2 finals in a row, they got knocked out last season in the semi finals by Oxford City. They actually beat Braintree in the QF last season too.

Kinda agree to be honest, although it would be nice for them to go up, their ground and pitch holds them back, maybe this is their ceiling 🤔
