I agree entirely, but we had Mitoma for about half the season, at least. The Sarmiento loan just looks more and more bizarre as the matches go by. I assume RDZ doesn't want him? I would have kept Mazilu as well. Young or not he was a player we might have been able to use on the right in Solly's place.
And Sarmiento has dropped down a level and done what exactly? Always the same on here - big up players who are missing as if they are world beaters.

Say it quietly but if Villa play the second half as passively and low in intensity as they have the first we might, just might, sneak a goalless draw. Heady stuff after the last month.

Presumably though Emery will remind his team that they're trying to qualify for the top 4 and to do that they need to win. And that we're a bit shit and on the beach(like half the east stand by the looks of things on my stream...).

There'll never be a better opportunity for a Gross turn on the keeper 😞

Best half we've played in weeks though, we actually look like scoring might be a possibility. Confused by the negativity on here (albeit by the usual suspects), we're getting the ball forward much quicker than in recent games and it's creating chances.

Good first half that. We've pressed well, had a bunch of shits.

Adingra being a nuisance, Bart looking calm, Webster also looking composed.

Just need a bloody goal

EDIT - I meant shots. But I'm leaving it in.
Thought we controlled most of that half. Can see Villa upping the tempo second half but thought we did ok. Shame Pascal didn’t score at the end there but decent save.

Low bar I know but that’s our best half of football for a while. As the old cow said rejoice at that news!

I find it a bit strange that Olsen never really has been the first choise at club level. He’s never had a bad game playing for Sweden, really good keeper IMHO, a pity his showing it now though.

Aston Villa look much more mentally and physically tired than we are.

Plus they are ravaged with injuries, like every other Premier League club, so our injuries excuse is null

Hardly. He's scored goals and helped a team to promotion. Hes no world beater, but when we needed squad depth, surely he's better than nothing, which is what we ended up with?
He's not been able to become a regular starter in the Championship for two teams this season. He's not the answer (at least not yet).

It's a shame Pascal needed to take the first touch with that late chance. It was very close to landing right in his stride and allowing for the first time shot.

Curses!

Unlike some, I’m encouraged by our performance this half. We’ve been bright, we’re trying to get ahead, Adingra has turned up for the first time since AFCON.

Lots of positives, I wouldn’t mind seeing us score a goal though. (At the right end please lads)
