It’s a huge transfer window for the club that’s approaching, one that asks Bloom whether he really wants to pursue the ambition of the “next step”.

We’ve been in Europe but have fallen off this season due to injuries but also inadequate replacements of key players we lost last summer.

My question now is how many do we really need in - first of all we have to get our current players fit - but some of the injuries we know are complicated and could take time.

It’s my opinion that we need 6 providing the unlikely circumstance of deniz undav returning and playing his part, happens.

New rb (Hinshelwood injured/young and making his way, veltman solid, lamptey injury prone - we need a standout right back)

New Lcb:

A natural left footer - better and more athletic then Igor - someone to complement JPVH/dunk

A LB - to compete/stick a rod up pervis’s arse while Barca plays EVERY week on loan to help him develop

2 new cm/dm

A ready and firing caicedo/bissouma type who baleba can learn off and can win the ball for us - crucial for RDZ’s Albion of 22/23 /

Another centre mid in the same mould who can provide cover - again should baleba go on loan if not ready?

A right winger - the links with nico Gonzalez are tantalising yet excruciating - all of these inconsistent yet talented left wing options yet we have no one to play on the right

If undav gets his way and stays in Germany we also need a striker - can rely on the lack of goals we’ve had from CF again - need another option / if only we hadn’t sold Gyokeres for like 8 million 😤😤😤

But these are unprecedented times ???

I expect to see hundreds of threads like these over the next few weeks.

We are half way between the gutter and the stars.

It's critically important that....

Sorry! Just woke up. I was dreaming that I was a ManUre fan. Oh, the shame 😢

Stuttgart now guaranteed Champions League surely makes it highly likely Undav is off so will need to be replaced. Easier said than done.

A right winger - the links with nico Gonzalez are tantalising yet excruciating - all of these inconsistent yet talented left wing options yet we have no one to play on the right
Adingra is still questionable - his decision-making could be an area for improvement be for me but March will be back next season I hope.

Agree we need at least one more winger (inverted or otherwise) to add to Osman (development) March/Adingra and Mitoma. With both March and Mitoma out this season we’ve really suffered.

Great idea - take your pick - ££££! 😉 But yes, arguably in De Zerbi ball one of the most important outliers on the pitch

A LB - to compete/stick a rod up pervis’s arse while Barca plays EVERY week on loan to help him develop
Pervis has been struggling with an ankle injury for several weeks (now operated on) after being recently back from a 21 game absence this season for muscle injury spread over 58 days in Sept-Dec 2023. Bit harsh to say he needs a ‘rod up his arse’.

And Barco, who’s been the best player on the pitch in the last two matches should go out on loan? 😳 Nope.

Happy for Barco and Igor to bring up the slack at LB.

If undav gets his way and stays in Germany we also need a striker - can rely on the lack of goals we’ve had from CF again - need another option
‘CF’ ? I don’t think for lack of enough strikers, our finishing has been bad (unless you count several out for injuries) - With Mitoma, March, Pedro, Ferguson, Adingra, Facu (improving), Welbeck and Enciso next season, we have plenty of forward players to improve our on our xG and conversion rates.
New rb (Hinshelwood injured/young and making his way, veltman solid, lamptey injury prone - we need a standout right back

Agree with RB - I think Hinshelwood should be played higher up the pitch anyway.

TLDR - RB and another (inverted) winger (in addition to Osman)

Solly March plays right wing for De Zerbi, Adingra plays either wing.
If everyone is fit, and no one leaves, we need only one player in, someone who can play as double pivot with Baleba, or fill in for Baleba when he isn't available.
Any other acquisitions will be about replacing anyone leaving, or improving or adding depth to what we have already. I guess right back we might look for someone with a bit more pace than Veltman, and a bit better at defending than Lamptey. Maybe Offiah will step up though?

six feet beneath the moon...
I now think Stuttgart will stump up the cash for Undav and that he’ll want to stay with them sadly.

That means 7 players to grab, hopefully in June to replace McGill, Webster, Lamptey, Moder, Lallana and Milner.

CB - Nagalo
RB - Wesley
LB - Miranda
CM - Barkley
CM - KDH
RW - McAtee
LW/FWD - Jota Silva
rumours online that we’ve offered lallana a 12 month extension, not something i’d have done but in terms of your list, dahoud is also going to be off so those numbers should still work out

We couldn't get KDH in January when he was playing in the Championship, for a team that was stuttering. Why on earth would he leave his boyhood club now they're in the Prem (and he's, presumably, on more dosh)?

The only reason would be so Leicester could balance their FFP books by the end of June and not get deducted up to 10 points next season. He is homegrown so offers huge value for them in terms of FFP. For this reason, his departure has been heavily mooted in the press.
