Against Cardiff in our second PL season, everyone was angry because we had technology that could have stopped us losing to an offside goal and almost costing us a PL place.

I think people do realise that, yes. There are plenty though that feel the natural tolerance that came from making the decision with the naked eye was much more in keeping with the intention of the law.

Indeed. I hate VAR but he is offside and he looks offside. The lino could have saved the situation by flagging to start with. We all hate it but...he's offside.

And don't forget the law was changed to say you were onside if you were in line. Now VAR with it's ridiculous microscopic examination will effectively undo that.

and if the Albion were in that situation instead of Utd we'd all be praising VAR or screaming for VAR were it not yet introduced.
