Great Welsh winger has sadly died aged just 71.

Remember him as a kid, Burnley, Derby and QPR mostly, and Wales of course.

He's the reason I hate Wales so much!! Seem to remember England on course to win the Home Internationals back in the 70s when the Welsh, inspired by James, beat us 4-1 (I think).

Edit: Looked it up and it was in fact 1980

I played cricket against him back in the early 1980’s. Think he was playing for Llanelli or Gorseinon. Seemed a decent fella. RIP

Liverpool v Burnley at Anfield just about to kick off and Smith is looking right at LJ and shouts “Jimmy(case) you flick him up and I’ll volley him” apparently Leighton had a quiet afternoon

Pretty sure it was him who scored the penalty at Wembley for Wales when they won 1-0
Did he score at the Goldstone in the League Cup game?
I think he did in the replay
