Keeping him for another season when he is in a massive slump that would have him sacked from most clubs is a big risk. If next season starts with a couple of poor results there would be panic and early manager change. Full back, for instance, we had Veltman, Estupinan, Lamptey, Milner and Igor ALL out as the same time and were forced to play central midfielders at RB and LB for a number of games. Wingers too. There was a period when Adingra, March, Mitoma, Enciso and Pedro were all injured or unavailable. These two positions were both in this situation at around the same time and none of these were short term.

Having 8 injuries is no great issue if it's spread over a few positions in either the first or second choice spots, but ours wiped out 2-4 whole positions. In a team of 11, that's crippling.
