He is demonising anyone who is not wealthy. What else did you expect?
Did he actually though?

I'm not his biggest fan, and there's a hint of a dead cat bounce here, but I would imagine the overwhelming majority of NSCers would want the benefit abuser issue tackled head on?

Just last week the £54million benefit scam by the Bulgarian Crime gang, surely you'd like to see that kind of thing eradicated?

Good news for anyone interested in tangibles and realities.

I just listened to Sunak's speech - any changes would happen in the next parliament under a Tory government.

SO, THEY'RE NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!!!

IT'S IMPORTANT TO POINT THIS OUT BECAUSE THERE'LL NOW BE FOLK HERE WORRIED ... YOU SHOULDN'T BE.
Well yes. I don’t think anyone believes it’s going to happen .

This is an announcement to try to win votes from the anti-woke mob.

You damn well know why I was having troubles logging on, so why ask? So incredibly patronising. Still a 'socialist' in the 1901 are you?
This is exactly what you were asked not to do. Use it as an example because you sure seem to need this stuff spelled out for you.

Would be nice to tackle all forms of fraud but

A) Tory’s, pick your fights

B) do not attempt to take medical decisions away from medical professionals and into the hands of Tory lickspittles.

C) they have no intention of sorting out benefit fraud.

Have you put money on Sunk not winning the GE? Despite everything I'm still not confident enough to splash out on a bet.

He's going to tackle the 'abuse' by English people going off sick with mental health issues by taking the decision out of the hands of GPs.

Nothing to do with Bulgarian Crime Gangs, FFS

Yes, ages and several PM's ago at good odds. But gutted the stakes are modest.

Do you stay up late on election nights? I do. If you do, I guarantee you'll have a great night. With virtual company all night from @Bozza and many nsc'ers.

As posted above, there is more than double the amount of unclaimed benefit as there iare fraudulent claims..
This is due to the stigma of claiming benefits and the complexity of the system.

Would you also like to see the rightful claimants get the money they are eligible for?

Should be a cracker, I'm looking forward to it (better a nice summer evening than a cold winter night though, for everyone)

But it's fine for me to be called a 'prick' amongst many other insults on here as has happened before? HT was taunting me as he knows exactly why previously it took me so long to log onto NSC. I was replying to his rhetorical question with one back at him.

You were spoken to by PM. It would be arrogant and incorrect for you to assume others aren’t

So those of you who are opposed to the Conservative's crackdown on benefit claimants: are you saying every person claiming some sort of benefit is a legitimate claimant?

I'm certainly not arrogant and I only engaged with HT as he asked me a question to which he knew the answer to, hence why I asked him a question which required no answer. Have you asked HT why he asked me a question which he knew the answer to?

in a previous role as a support worker I have guided countless people through the benefits system

the level of scrutiny that they are placed under for PIP and (what was) ESA claims is pretty intense and I've seen people who are very obviously disabled get declined for both

it is very hard to "cheat the system"

When I’m addressing you I’m talking about your behaviour on the board. No one else’s.

Not a fan of fizzy drinks, a heavy red (or two) and a couple of good Brandys. You may hear a cheer or two though

Lightweight here .... water, but the proverbial Pringles etc.

Choice of TV news, strangely as I'm not 'an ITV person,' I like their coverage and Tom Bradby. They had a great incident in 2019 when Alan Johnson destroyed the founder of Momentum.
