Hi all

I've hardly ever posted on here but been asked by a friend to pass on the sad news that Koastie has passed away.

He was very prominent in the local hip-hop scene back in the day and was a massive Albion fan to boot.

I'm sure he'll be familiar to some of you.

Oh, that's awful. I saw him perform many times back in the day. He can't have been very old. And yes, he did indeed post on here.

Never personally knew the bloke or met him, in fact only recently found out he's an Albion fan but way back in the late 90's he was pretty much responsible for getting me into the internet where we had written rap battles on the UKHipHip.com forum. He worked hard for the scene at a time when uk rap was deeply unfashionable. Respect. RIP.

(btw the name is Koaste)

I thought the spelling looked odd. I'll put it down to the fever I currently have.

Apparently he died on a jogging holiday in Greece. Tragic

Didn't know him, but from what I know of the UKHH scene and the Brighton HH scene in general, he was part of the fabric.
You need diehards to get the UK rap scene to where it is today and he certainly fell into the category.

I was trying to remember the user name and thought you'd know.

Was into his running too. Ran in a pack with him in one of the Bright10 races before that got canned - then he streaked off into the distance and beat me easily.
