Seriously - your speculation may or may not be correct, but less than TWO DAYS after such assumptions made fools of a lot of people, in the aftermath of a similar incident, could you not just hold back and wait for some information?
Once a twat, always a twat

Sadly his speculation is still visible in a reply someone posted. You might like to check and remove that too

If the information on the link in the OP is correct, the Bishop is a strict orthodox Christian, strongly against LGBT, gay marriages, etc. - similar attitudes in that respect as extreme Islam, so hardly likely to be an Islamic attack.

And WTF are the crowds gathering to protest protesting about? What's their beef?
Wtf has his views on lgbtq got to do with this attack?!
Videos of the terrorist talking while been held down in the church are there. Mari made few sermons why Christians don’t believe Muhammad was a prophet. He videos get hundreds of thousands of views.

That’s the world we live in unfortunately. The normal person knows 99% of Muslims are decent friendly people, There aren’t many normal people left.
I can reassure you there are. It's just that the twats are easily noticed because they are very noisy wankers.

They haven't - just that his views on LGBT align with right wing Islam, so the attack us unlikely to be an Islamic attack.

And I ask again, what is the angry mob protesting/rioting about?

What a strange logic. So Islamists don't attack Christians because they share the same views on LGBTQ? Have you been hiding in a cave for decades? I would research Islamist terror if I was you.

Sounds like he says a lot of things to incite others or draw attention to himself. No better than radical Islam or the far right really

At what point does mainstream social media get 'taken down'? No one can tell me the world is a better place because of it. I'm aware of the irony of posting this on an internet forum.
Mainstream social media is only a reflection of other forms of media. As toxic as it is, in many ways it has weakened and made other forms of media more accountable. Given folk the right of reply.

Mainstream social media isn't the problem. The lack of values and standards in society is.

Yep

And then preaches that those who attract followers to opinions that he disagrees with are agents of Satan, while people who support him are true believers.

He's a ****

Obviously I don't agree with him being physically assaulted, that's awful.

But he's a ****

A Christian Orthodox Bishop can’t possibly be compared with a terrorist fundamentalist Islamic Jihadist (because that’s what we generally mean by ‘extreme’ Islam) and so therefore not likely to be targeted by another ‘extremist’? That would be a very warped view of Orthodox Christianity - (Jihadist fundamentalist terrorists also murder non-extremist Muslims too btw). Evangelical Christians (in fact a lot of CofE Churches are strongly against LGBT too) - Orthodoxy is not any more ‘strict’ and very certainly not extremist in theology any more than an Evangelical tradition or Catholicism ( also against LBGT) it is an Eastern branch of Christianity.

The crowds attacking the police is really bizarre - apparently a paramedic was holed up inside the Church for safety.

update here

It seems the Australian police define a terrorist attack as one that is ideologically motivated, rather than a " looney".

It could be argued of course that anyone who believes in the various versions of God and totem poles etc , has a bit of "looney" in them.

I do think media and forums have quite an impact on how people view the world and prolific posters on any forum who are constantly pushing their point of view are always ones to be wary of.
