[Albion] I'll never not care

I am struggling with my health now, and my age and my mojo.....f***ing sciatica the latest bolleaux. The drive has become monotonous. A match costs me 7 hours, travel and that. Faversham is practically in Belgium. I'm 66 next month.

Well, I do care and always will. Even if I have to give up my season ticket. The occasional visit to the Amex would be wonderful.

I can understand, if you have to work on matchday, or have a young family, these are distractions. Possibly insurmountable.

But anyone who has the time to log on to NSC to start a great long thread about how they are a bit bored with RDZ, and would rather be having a wank that watching The Albion can f*** right off as far as I am concerned.

Fair weather fans creeping out the woodwork when we’re 10th in the PL is just bizzare.

Has the season ended with a Wimper? Yes.

Will I still travel to Newcastle, despite most likely losing? Absolutely.

I would think that Faversham is closer to France than Belgium, but whichever it is, a game at the Amex must feel like an away game given the time away from home.

In terms of polls, maybe time to bring out yet another where's your Albion mojo. No doubt those that don't enjoy 0-0 draws will be putting in a lower score than earlier in the season

Sorry to hear that things are a little tough for you H. It is horrible being in pain all the time - hopefully you’ll get a fix.

I agree totally - I have no time for lengthy long threads on how ’bored’ people are with RDZ either

I did suggest (I thought logically) to a NSCer on hear a few months ago that if he was so ’angry’ with ‘wasting time’ (his words) and ‘money’ watching Brighton lose, he should give his up season ticket to someone who would appreciate the opportunity to cheer on our lads whether they were winning or not. Unbelievable sense of outrage creeping in these days - I know we’ve struggled this season but to suggest it is a ‘waste of time and money supporting the team is ridiculously entitled imo..

Sadly, I can’t make any more matches this season and my gradual loss of mobility means this may have been my last season at the Amex so you are not alone - several NSCers in the same boat now..

Indeed, I don’t remember any of the I’m bored with the football this time last season when it was us scoring 3 goals past Lego head and his spray tanned right back.

If this thread is a reaction to the ‘I just don’t care anymore’ thread then it seems very the harsh. The OP in the other thread is not blaming Brighton, RDZ etc. They are commenting on a change in how they feel about football.

NSC has its moments and this is one of them. Sometimes its worth turning it off for a while, heaven knows I do everynow and then, infact my last turn off of NSC was for over a year, can't remember why, just faded away for a bit...Some fans are fickle, want perfection every game...Want us to be changing our manager at the first sniff of a wrong pass...But we're not like that, and whether I like it or not, they are entitled to their opinion...so I just try (and its hard) to ignore it...Sorry to hear about your health HWT and Z..I hope there are things that can be done to get you back to the Amex...

We know we will be the underdog Thursday week and I can accept that. I so much agree with Harry Wilson’s post . Perhaps it’s the newer fans that never suffered the loss of our spiritual home The Goldstone, sat in the elements at Withdean or fought so hard for Falmer - if you are only accustomed to success you think it will always be there …
Whatever, the wingers and moaners are not true supporters.
RDZ & the rest are doing a great job. If we finish mid table in the Premiership, that is damn good. Who knows we may do a lot better , there is some way to go yet .

@Harry Wilson's tackle , a practical point on those long journeys and your health …. do you drive an automatic? A few years back I found driving and driving position uncomfortable. I changed to a car with long adjustable seat squabs as I’m tall and an automatic …. a gamechanger.

More power to your elbow HW. I have only managed one match this season despite being a 45' or so drive away, and on a regular bus route passing the ground.

Locally I can't think of many more awkward drives in the south east - a quick Google reveals journey options are around 2 hours and 90 miles each way. Train is around 3hrs each way, Faversham to Victoria thence Victoria to Brighton strikes and/or engineering works permitting.

I’ll never not care either but my motivation to go to away games and even some home games has fallen away recently :down:

I guess being able to see every game on tv is to blame as I would almost certainly make more effort to get to games if they weren’t on tv.

I will go to my grave wanting to watch Albion games one way or the other I think, which division we are in or how shit or brilliant we are will make no difference at all. Other than the last few games under CH I have always made an effort to watch us since the first game I watched in the 70s. For some reason those games under CH made me lose the will to live, first and hopefully the only time that will happen. Have an interest in games that have a bearing on where we are in the table but it’s always a watch whilst doing something else in those games. Also have an interest at this stage of the season in the title race as long as it’s open.

I know Mullers is the club’s ambassador but I don’t think that is part of his remit.

Half a dozen games left and we're 10th in the Premier League, with a squad of extremely gifted children. I'm not sure what there is to moan about - we are Brighton and not some Arab autocrats play thing, used to decades of being spoon fed. If here, now and the future aren't special moments in the life of an Albion fan, then we've seriously forgotten the 1990s.

Morning Westy. I do drive an automatic and it is a comfy drive.

My main problem when driving was cramp (in fingers and occasionally legs). I have pretty much stopped that completely now by taking daily potassium supplements)
