Yes, Scott is too old for the part but after an episode or two we were too swept up in Highsmith's glorious storytelling to notice or to care. The Italian characters, especially the fearsome Inspector Ravini and the succession of cartoonish male hotel receptionists, are wonderful creations. The only negative for me was the weirdly wooden actor who played Freddie Miles. But overall, highly recommended for its top notch production values and irresistible plot.

Just finished this too, and agree with everything you say. It took me a couple of episodes to get on board with the whole 60s/mannered/bored rich class way of conducting themselves, but once I did, was swept up indeed all the way through. There are frequent moments of high black comedy in some pretty dark scenes, which was just *chef's kiss*.

Oh, and the Freddy Miles fellow, I fell to thinking that in that strata of society, oddly in-your-face people like him would be tolerated and welcomed with open arm$$$

Emily the Criminal is a good evening's watch. A young woman with a stonking great student loan that she has no way of paying off while trapped in the gig economy gets lured into credit card fraud. Probably not going to win many awards but it's very well acted and directed

Just watching this with Mrs V, beautiful cinematography, Andrew Scott onboard guarantees a good show....started typing this then got sidetracked and then watched episode 3...the action on the boat was absolutely ridiculous sadly..when trying to burn the anchor rope off the petrol would have run straight back towards him and set him on fire...after falling in he would never have been able to pull himself up the rope back to the running outboard....

Totally agree re the boat scene. Laughably bad! Fortunately that was the only poor cinematography in the whole series. Absolutely stunning otherwise, and so brilliantly written. We finished last night, but tempted to start it again and watch through a second time. Such a brilliant watch start to finish (bar the boat scene 😅)

^ unless I imagined both, in one scene Marge uses a self-adhesive stamp, which weren't around then, and when the Inspector interviews Ripley the first or second time he refers to the wrong person, either Dickie or Tom, when it should have been the other, and not as a bluff either.

Started watching Parasyte: The Grey. Only one episode in, half of which was explaining what the alien entities are, but the rest of it was action packed and way more violent than I was expecting.
I've been watching it in 4k so the visuals sometimes look a little suspect, but overall it's enjoyable.

The Mrs has been watching Baby Reindeer, I've caught bits of it in the background and what I've seen is kind of amusing and terrifying at the same time, some of the content is really weird but I think the main story is about the bat shit stalker. Seems very dark in places but looked alright and she's enjoying it.
