I don't know if de Zerbi "rags" our players to death in training, but I do find it odd that many on here have criticised the medical team.

I wasn't aware that medics go out and cause stress fractures etc etc etc etc.

I think your comparison to Bielsa may well have some merit.

Overtraining = Stress on body and injuries
Modern approach no longer goes along the lines of the old “No pain No Gain” principle
I’m sure they know what they are doing they pay people decent money to plan all this

Any team that presses a lot train very hard, which is most of them these days. Klopp’s Liverpool looked knackered last season but have a chance of the title this season. Newcastle have had more injuries than us this season. It’s not unique to RDZ.

Our hench physios and club doctor seem to have disappeared though. Bit of an elephant in the room that one,

I watched plucky play some shit club from Manchester last night the plucky 11 were all playing with a smile on their face compared to our lot who look depressed.
Even when the ref was favourable towards the shit club from Manchester plucky still kept smiling and managed to score two goals.

Whilst we have a lot of players out injured, there does not appear to be any obvious clusters of injuries, to suggest any underlying problem. I am thinking back to the cluster of hamstring injuries, which occurred shortly after the Amex opened.

RDZ plan A is to get the ball out to our wide men in space where they can attack the full back one on one and then flood the penalty area. We only briefly showed any threat here and strangely this was more on the counter attack, than through our intricate passing game. With Veltman and Igor at full back, there was limited opportunity to overlap, which again focused our attacks through the middle.

Baleba's passing game is not currently at the standard required and I am starting to have doubts he will be able to develop in this regard. The coaching staff have some work to do here, along with his tackling technique on his right side. It looks to me like we need at least three key buys in the summer to get back on track, along with the return of some key players from injury.

There is zero energy in our team, they look done.
Gross, Adringa, JPvH all look f***ed. The only ones with any energy yesterday were Pedro and Baleba. We looked like a vets team.
This could be pure coincidence but we’ve been mainly shite since the warm weather training.

The cheap options every time. I don’t really have an issue but Barber please don’t go on media platforms like TS and say we are going for Europe and silverware and then go shopping in the bargain basement.

If our CM pool come August is Gross/Gilmour/Baleba and Gross is still taking EVERY set piece then we could find ourselves in a relegation battle.

For me our season ‘ended’ on January 31st when we let Dahoud go and still brought no more midfield cover in. The club must have known what the 22/23 profits were by then too.

There are two people who are best placed to see the bigger picture of what is going on at Brighton.

Luckily those two people are the ones that have to make the decisions regarding the development of our football club.

Even more lucky is that they also have a track record of making (mostly) fine decisions to progress the club thus far.

The way I see it is our role in all this is not to lose our shit and get all torches and pitch forms when things don't go as well as they can.

I guess this makes me a happy clapper! But seriously if you are not happy with where we are at at the moment you are supporting the wrong club. Thank f*** that some posters on here arent making the decisions regarding the clubs progress.

This summer is going to be exciting I feel. I am really looking forward to next season.

The fact that most of our medical team / physios left earlier this season surely has to be a cause for concern, and possible cause and effect!

We were lauded in the press (and Barber loves to tell everyone) - we have a list of ready made replacements for the top player and non player positions across the club, so we're not afraid of anyone leaving. But we didn't seem to have anyone ready to step in quickly to the medical or midfield vacancies. Ditto our recruitment head and his replacement leaving and not yet being replaced could effect our Summer recruitment.

This is a forum! It where debate happens! Posters are well within their rights to have a different opinion and vent any frustrations!
You can have frustrations but still be happy with the overall place we are in!

This upwards curve thing we were there almost at the top a few more better ref decisions and we were champions league. Will we ever achieve those heights again? The squad then got dismantled fairly rapidly no replacements came in and here we are.
Was that great decision making?

All in all it's been a memorable season, a lot of historically amazing, a lot of it frustrating yes due to injuries et al. as our expectations are high now due to a bit of success, but being realistic it was always going to be hard in new territory. But Brighton have a taste of it now and will want more and more of it, and that's going to be the hardest task in satisfying the expectations of unrealistic people.
