Wished I had my 'real' camera with me and not just my Pixel. But the Amex looked beautiful last night.

Due to refraction and pixels and foreshortening and other technical stuff that end of the rainbow doesn't actually look like it's in Anfield but it is. And if you zoom in you'll see RDZ just setting off.

What an excellent picture.
Genuine question. How could your "real" camera have improved on that? I'm not a photo expert. It looks pretty good to me.

I think the 'real' camera would have produced a better initial image. I use a Fuji mostly and its jpegs are famed for being great straight from the camera without any meddling. Phone software has less image quality in terms of clarity as it uses an inferior lens and the software tends to be a 'one size fits all' approach which kind of compresses the colours and contrast and makes a more flat image. That's my rather amateur away to describe it anyway. I slightly altered the phone image to put back a little more colour as the scene at the time was stunningly good. The rainbow for instance looked far more intense at that moment. It's really easy to overdo post processing, and if anything, I undercooked it as I dislike anything too obvious.
Cheers for the kind comments!

Thank you for taking the time to explain.

Could it be that the original JPEG you uploaded is very small, a thumbnail? I always use imageresizer.com as photos straight from the camera are too large.
Thanks for your reply. The JPEG is actually very large. I used the attach files option then photo library and chose the small image because the original file is large. It appears to have been resized by the web software and the black surround with the image title added. Is there a better way to upload photos?

I resize mine to about half size on the website I mentioned. Then use the button just in front of the emoji in the options above the place a post is written. That then says 'drop image or click here'.

I’m not seeing an emoji or a button. Above the quote of your post is a bar with some buttons for Bold, Italic, link file and picture which are greyed out. Sorry I’m probably being a bit dim.

I mean this part.... But I can't see why it'd be greyed out?

I think maybe you need to click in or touch the active part where you'd write for it to become, er, active.

Scratch that. Just seen mine is active anyway and not greyed out. Just looked at your post count, perhaps there's a number of posts you need to have made before you are permitted to post pictures?

If you click on the right hand of the 3 vertical dots it will bring up another menu, from there select the square brackets and this will turn the BB code off and you'll have access to the currently greyed out icons.

Thanks you both for that advice I tried it and it works. Will post some pictures tomorrow.
